Hustler build: which Hyperion motor?

Hi,
I'm building a Huslter and plan to use the Raptor Crawler Axels from rc4wd...http://rc4wdstore.com/product_info.php?cPath=60&products_id=546
I also plan to go brushless and from what I've read the Hyperion motors are an excellent motor to use but I'm not sure which one's to use. The Z3013 or the Z3025? Will the Z3025 be too powerfull or is it just fine with the axels I'm using?

FYI: I'll be using two Mamba Max's.

being that you'll have a dual motor'd rig i think the Z3013's will be plenty. Z3025's if you just want blatent overkill "thumbsup"

3013's for sure.

I dont know if those axles will have enough reduction for a Mamba controller to work smoothly though. There is a minimum RPM, and 30:1 isnt enough reduction to get outta the bottom of the throttle for crawling. If the axles work with 6 tooth pinions it will be all good though.

Regarding the gear ratio. As I understand it, the 30:1 ratio is when a 20 tooth pinion is used. If a 8 tooth pinion is used the ratio will be 10:1. Shouldn't that be low enough?

No, you have it backwards 30:1 is with the 8T pinion.

30:1 is the stock ratio with the 13 tooth pinion.

8 tooth gives 48.89:1.

I hate to tell you this, but the pinion that comes with the rapor axles is an 8 tooth, and it gives you 30:1.;-) You must be thinking clod, right.

I saw the Revolver 2 in action sunday. I was impressed. I think you may have found the perfect replacement.

I might have to give it my blessing.

I wouldnt call it a perfect replacement. It is 2/3 the power. The hyperion is 1.25 the power. Im still hunting for another 3 ounce 28mm stator motor.

Yup...doesn't have the oomph of the OG Revolver.

Debating swapping my Revolver that's in the FJ40 into the King Bling tuber.

The KB tuber has a Revolver 2.

The hyperion is 1.25 the power.

I saw the original revolver work in Grover's rig, and it had a lot of power, if this hyperion is 1.25 the power, that should be plenty to break stuff. I was considering the 3025-08 for my 2.2 txt, but maybe the 3013 will be enough.

Yes, yes it will have enough power. People dont seem to believe me :lol: The stator diameter is larger than the OG revolver, so it creates more torque even though it is a touch shorter.
