iPhone VS Driod

So i got my Incredible, way fast. But the only issue im having is short batttery life, like 10hours today. Hopefully it gets better or i can figure out what to do to make it better.

So i bought an HTC touch pro 2 battery 1500mah, vs the stock 1300mah battery, My runtime is around 18 hours now. Maybe I had a bad battery from the factory.

One of the busy stores around me has a picture cut out of a magazine as the display model while a much smaller store has 3 on display all working :roll: I dont think htc and verizon saw the incredible as being hit, they are sold out nation wide i guess they need some new sales analyzers...

Yeah they're sold out everywhere. It sucks waiting but after doing a bunch of research and playing with a friends phone, I think its worth the wait. Mine should be shipping by memorial day. I can't wait to tap dance on my pos voyager

What is rooting ?

Android 2.1 doesn't need to be rooted

Can anyone explain 'rooting' ?

Was at the Verizon Store yesterday and the salesman pushed me towards the Motorola Droid over the Incredible 1) because it was in stock but 2) he said he personally didn't trust HTC. Have any of you guys had any problems with HTC Incredible or any of their other phones? He really didn't have anything to back up his statement, so I'm curious.

Rooting is breaking into the OS as the superuser. The benefit is UI tweak and running some pretty cool ROMs.
I don't think the Inc needs it but I may change my mind in 6 months.
The new 2.2 OS Froyo is the stuff though. Still in beta but getting released soon.
I've only seen a little issue with my Inc. Sometimes it turns off on its own. Could be me though, in my pocket.

Just found a little info on 2.2 OS. Looks like the Incredible will get it, the Motorola Droid is a strong maybe, and the HTC Eris is out of luck.

You can run the Froyo beta on motodroid, there are still some WiFi issues but it works.
There is also a 1g kernel for motodroid in which you can clock up the processor speed.
You need to be root for these upgrades.
The term root primarily comes from the Linux OS as well as kernel. I'm a 3-4 year Linux newb, still learning and will never look back to windoze. BTW, Ubuntu 10.04 rocks!!

Droid advertises it's who-zee what's-it 8Mg pixel camera but big deal. my Sony Ericson is a yr old now and it's got an 8.1 mg pixel camera and compaired to my friends droid,,,,I got way better zoom and picture quality.
I think the Droid is more hype in advertising than actually being this "great and awesome thing you gotta have.":roll:

Funny how phones keep getting smaller, now they gotta have every gadget on the market with twice the Whaa Chaa Chaa as a Super computer and they no longer can fit in your pocket when you're driving.:ror:

i like my iphone so much beacuse it all revolves around itunes.

every thing is organized and looks nice. TONS of apps Good and bad. millions of songs moives tv shows podcasts music videos

over all itunes makes my life a lot better

I couldn't be surfing the internet and texting if it were in my pocket now could I If I am driving I am usually using my phone in some form or another

I love my iPhone because everything revolves around it. Everyone makes an app, everyone caters to the phone. Once the droid gets half the support then I may think about going back to an HTC, but until then no fawking way.

I just got a Droid over the weekend and I love it. Haven't had much time with the iphone. But I guess it's what you're use to, I can see why you would go to it. If you have an ipod and like the way it works why not get a iphone.
