Here is a start of what I have so far...This is going to be a weight saving Bully build with a totally sick chassis from Crawler Design Works (yotachump), The ever so sweet VP wheels, and misc parts from vendors on here including RPP Hobby, Holmes Hobbies, Punk RC, RC4WD, Rocksmith Engineering and the best batteries in the bizz, CheapBatteryPacks...
I want to thank Tanis for all his help, and for letting me pick his brains...Cheers to you Nathan!!!
Specs/Parts...
-CDW "Chump" MOA Chassis with battery mount
-Rocksmith Engineering Ti 125mm eye to eye lower links
-Traxxas 5319 upper links
-Axial racing 72-103mm comp shocks (mmmm butter
)
-OG RC4WD Machined Bully Axles with V4 Shafts (front has cast tubes and knuckles for weight)
-Vanquish Product .7 SLW BeadLocks
-Team Losi Comp Claw Tires
-Super Secret Foams (thanks T-anus)
-Holmes Hobbies 35t Handwound Motors

-Punk RC Dig Switch
-Cheap Battery Packs Elite 1700 3s LiPo
-DX3R Radio
-Custom Painted Crawler Graphics Proline Crowd Pleazer R.C. Body (too pretty to run)
The Build...
The machined gear case with v4 axles, cast tubes and knuckles for a front axle weight of 1lb 1.5 oz...
The machined rear axle stuffed with V4 shafts comes in at 11.9 ounces...
One Complete VP SLW Comes in at 1.8 ounces, I added the black screws, I hate stainless:mrgreen:...
Time for 4 1/16" breather holes in the SLWS...
Just to compare, here is a pic of the DH VP wheels without weights on the scale... 5.3ounces ...
Comp Claws in the freezer getting ready for mounting. Just atrick I have used forever for mounting beadlocks, makes the bead super stiff for ease of mounting, even though the Vanquish wheels need no help in the department, I still do it for good measure since the wheels are only .7" wide8)...
Comp Claw mounted to the .7 SLW...
One Wheel/Tire/Foam combo comes in at 6.8 ounces, no need for any weight in the wheels with the heavy front axle, and the CDW battery tray up front...
Fronts mounted on the Bullies with 725 hubs on the SLWs, a little wide for my taste at 10.5" , but I have new hubs in the mail...
The rear end mounted up comes to a width of 10.25" with the 600 hubs, again, more hubs in the mail for narrower track width...
The goodies ready to assemble...
The "CHUMP"...
"Chump" assembled with Rocksmith Ti goodness...
We gots a roller...
Sexiness...
The Crawler Graphics paint job!!! Might have to have this be my "perty" body, and run the good ol rattle can XC-1...
Representin' RPP...
The Orange rings are on their way...
Flexed out...
CDW battery tray...
Full lock with skinny tires on bullies is good"thumbsup"...even have room to narrow her up...
Rear end link mount...if anyone has any of these 3mm threaded spacers from a TLT kit, pm me, I have paypal ready
...
Front end weight as a roller... 2lbs. 6.3oz...
Rear end weight as a roller... 1lb. 14.7 oz. Perfect combo!!!
Whole truck as a roller... 4lbs. 5.2oz...
All of my electronics total up to 1lb 9.4 ounces including motors...
I have 2 of these, my SWX is borrowing one
...
Body weighs in at 2.3oz...
By my calculations, all of my components will put me at just about 6.5lbs... I will be seeing what else I can do to save weight, including the axle shave, and maybe mill the skid out on the top...
Stay tuned for more updates...I plan to have the rig wired by this weekend for some testing...she should perform nicely...
