Jeremy's Sporty

I dont think I have ever seen these wheels before. What are they?

And here is a finished pic with the old body:

The GC3.5 pulled a 1st at it's debut comp.

But really, the highlight of the comp today was that I let one of our club members drive it since he was having troubles with his sporty. He put the truck down on the first course having never driven it before and pulled a PERFECT SCORE! One point better than I did with the truck on that course.

I think the setup is working. "thumbsup"

Well, I took some direction from those lightweight guys and made up a few simple parts....no fancy tools needed. It took me about 20 minutes to make both of these...

New spur shaft and idler gear shaft out of aluminum:

(was actually flickering between 4 and 5g)

No excess threads:

We'll see how this holds up.

You are still using the aluminum shaft because i am thinking i need to make 1 also. What spur gear and pinion are you using regarding teeth? I am also copying some of your ideas :ror:

Thanks again for letting me drive your truck at our last comp, it drives very well.
You are quite welcome. You drove it well. "thumbsup"

Yep, I didnt have any problems with the shaft. I did, however, make one for a buddy and he had a little too much play in the shaft where the rear bearing is, so he had to use a small piece of shrink wrap to take up the slack. I did not notice any play in mine.
I am using a 56T spur and an 11T pinion. "thumbsup"

Time to retire, let the young'ins take over. :ror:

Same here. The widest point on mine is right at the line running across the door. Just over 5". However, this judge insisted on "eyeballing" that measurement while holding his ruler on the top of the truck and looking down....

Seems to me I met this very judge in Wendover. ;-)

Rigs purty pretty. Pretty purty? I know you gotta purty mouth sooooo....yeah.

See you & your plaid cargo shorts, ankle socks & Le Tigre shirt in a few. :)

I finally got this sweet body mounted that BC Paints sprayed for me:

This truck is now ready to go for WCS! "thumbsup"

Thanks Ryan! I like the spaced out shocks on the rear, but it sure causes issues when I try to mount a body....
