Jeremy's Sporty

Laughed my ass off at the truck going through tech with that picture prominently displayed.
Showed the wife, and she rolled her eyes and asked, "you're going to do this to one of your trucks, aren't you?" No, don't think he'd have the same effect peering out the back window of the CUCV.

Congrats on the finish.

Drove it like you stole it. Congrats again."thumbsup"
Thanks man....

Psst, I did steal it.

Man...I can't quit laughing at that kid in the window. :lmao:
Laughing with, or laughing at?

Thanks man! It was the idea of the guys here....I just thought it was funny!

I was a little disappointed that Charlie didnt need to measure the thickness or dimensions of the licker sticker.

Some GripFab spools:

They are about 1/3 the weight of the VP lockers.....and I dont have to deal with any "unnecessary" set screws. Oh yeah, half the cost as well.

"unnecessary".....:lmao::lmao::lmao:

How is the tolerance of these spool? Does it hold the shaft nice and tight?

I put my CreeperBob Ti shafts into the spool BEFORE I installed the ring gear into the axle and felt no play. Installed and still none. "thumbsup"

They are very cool! Mine came in the mail the day we got back from Cali. "thumbsup"

Rob
Same here. I've just been too busy at work to get these installed. It's sad when you go to bed before your kid does...

They look shiny to me.

Can't wait till mine show up. "thumbsup"

They are actually. I bought a set of standard versions for my Neener 3 build and a set of the clamping versions for my scaler, which is waiting for panels still:flipoff:

That was an inside joke. DEFINITELY not a dig on the above product. They DO look snazzy & that price is CRAZY!!!

I finally have a number of battery packs on these new VooDoo tires from Ottsix and I must say......I LOVE them! I was shocked at how big they seemed when compared to the Sedonas I have been running on this truck since I built it, but I think most of that is just appearance. These tires have a taller sidewall and shorter lug than the Sedona.

Either way, I was not sure what foams to run. I had seen guys try single stage, two stage CC with rings and such. None of those setups felt right to me. I was looking at my wraith and noticed that the PB Rock Beasts II's were only a hair taller than these tires, so I robbed the foams out of the Rock Beasts and simply removed the outer ring....which means that I am running a 6.0" CC Inner and a 5.5 open outer (medium rear, soft front) on my VooDoo Gold Dots. I have several battery packs on this setup and I am really liking it so far. Excellent sidewall support and the tread compresses about 1/2" before hitting the inner, which is perfect.

Here's a pic of this setup next to my PBRBII:

And a pic of the truck as it sits (currently at 4lb 2oz):

These tires have MASSIVE forward bite. They hook the rock around here very well.

The magic question is how do they compare to the Losi pins?

IMO, these tires are not really in the same class. If switching from BCs to Voodoos, there will be a learning curve. The height difference will take some getting used to and possibly a little suspension tuning. Currently, I would say that the Voodoos have WAY more forward bit than the BCs...but the soft compound will mean that foam tuning will be even more important...which is not necessarily a bad thing for some folks...just means more options."thumbsup"
