Jeremy's Sporty

IMO, there is NO WAY that these climbs would have been made had I not shaved the sidewalls of these tires.

Sometimes grip is a bad thing. ;-)

I like my clapped Rovers too...you would think that fewer (or no) lugs would be a bad thing, but its not.

The rig is looking good though. Sporty's are fun, huh?

Well, I ran these tires on my 2.2 comp rig for about a year before I switched to pins.....I only recently shaved the sidewalls on them. They are well broken in and starting to work well."thumbsup"

Thanks! Yeah, like I have said before....driving any of my RCs is pure fun! I dont have to be in a comp or have gates setup for them to put a smile on my face and this truck is no different. "thumbsup"

Some new wheels for this truck:

The final weight is 5lb 4oz and the bias sits right at the front edge of the rod ends on the lower links....perfect!

Your sporty is looking damn good, Jeremy! It is amazing what these trucks can pull off.

Nice track width! That sounds about right for the 8* to work well on a stock width AX10 axle.

Are you describing the scrub radius?

Thanks Ashton.

The scrub on this truck appears to be only slightly less than the scrub on my berg. "thumbsup"

You mentioned one of it's weaker points is breakovers. I see you're running at 2 5/8". I think I saw a post from Austin once that said he was running at 2 3/4" and was referring to it as a dragger. Can't GC-3A's be run at higher skids, or does it give up too much on climbs & sideslopes?

Maybe he was running a greater track width which kept his more stable at a higher GC....

The weak point of being a belly dragger is usually overcome with a quick blip of the throttle. This becomes much easier to accomplish with a lighter weight truck.

Last I saw of his rig it was @ 2-1/2" running the shocks in the upper row of holes on the chassis along with a wider stance as you said. He could drop them top the lower pretty quick depending on the courses of the day.

Speaking of that quick blip, Austin is/was pretty much the king of hopping over break overs with a low rig.

Yeah, I was watching him drive that truck around after nationals in Disney a few years ago and saw that technique....

Why do the pretty things always look like they work better! :ror: Loving it! Your rig almost makes me want to lower mine! :D
