Jeremy's Sporty

Almost as crappy as that lame super you've been building for the past three years. :flipoff:

Glad to see so much renewed interest in Sportsman. Even if it does have a body on it. "thumbsup":ror:

:lmao:
They are quite simple. I just took a handfull of washers (the size will depend on the wheels you are running) where the OD and ID fit inside my wheels and over the hubs. Then, I took one of them, chopped about a third off and drilled 4 holes in it....two for the mount at the top and two on the sides for the other washers to mount to. Then, I drilled the full size washers for the proper mounting holes and bolted everything up. I did all of this with a dremmel and a drill press...but it could be done with a hand drill....simple tools that everyone has.

This evening, I can unbolt the outer washers and take a picture of the mount that I made. It is about time to clean the CVDs so I can do both at the same time."thumbsup"
Dang, no pic yet?:lmao:

Thanks Rowdy! "thumbsup"

Gary, here's a picture of the "mount"

Like all of my stuff, I make a template first (usually out of an old cereal box), bolt it up and make sure it will work, then start cutting.

BTW, while I had the washers off, I measured them.....OD=1.75" ID=1" Thickness=1/16"

Also, as I just reassembled these weights, I realized one last trick. If you use button head bolts to attach the mount like I did, you'll need a few washers (or a 1mm spacer) between the first washer and the mount at the lower bolts. If you feel like countersinking the upper mounting holes (I was too lazy ), then you obviously wont need these washers. "thumbsup"

If you are looking for materials to add to your diy knuckle weights, there are these odd half moon size metal things in the screw bolt washer area of home depot that would work on the backside or inside of the axle side to some more weight. I used those on my berg before dlux came out with his weights.

Great looking rig Jeremy I had a gc2 and gc3 set up. Very solid chassis, always dependable, and predictable. Are your jukebox shocks the "velvet coated" big bores?

I have been running them on most of my crawlers (this truck, my 2.2 and my super) for quite some time. They are expensive, but are the smoothest shock out there and dont leak a drop (unless you screw up putting them together).

Thanks Rowdy! "thumbsup"

Thanks Jeremy, I will give this a shot on my rig."thumbsup"

Thank Bob.

I built that truck for my dad a LONG time ago. It was an RC version of an old pickup that he had when I was a kid. Here is a pic of the RC and the OG versions:

(yep, that's me in the back )

I picked it up from him at thanksgiving for a few upgrades and TLC. Those wheels are RC4WD Landy's. I plan to swap out the tires for some Rock Beasts.

Thats a good looking ol rig Jeremy, I really like those wheels, might look for a set for the scaler I'm starting on.
Nice to take care of pop's "thumbsup".

I hit up my local testing spot yesterday (during my short break from work ) and the truck is performing nicely. I am liking these shaved sidewalls on the sedonas...they dont see to hurt forward traction or on sidehills, but really help in V notches.
(it doesnt really show from the picture, but this is a pretty steep sidehill)

Another thing that I found.....these new Losi black springs rust like CRAZY! I assume from running this truck down at the beach, but I have never seen a spring do that before. I pulled them and cleaned them off with some WD40...that should prevent any more rust on them.
