JHTreyIII's Class 1 Build - 1981 Chevy Pickup

Trey, this rig looks great (even better in person) and performed awesome!
I think you have Class 1 locked up... till I build me a mini Melons :flipoff:

Thanks Johnny. Yeah, I was really happy with it's performance. It crawls well and the weight seems right. I'm diggin' this truck.

Well I got the lights running today. I'm ready for the night crawl this weekend! They look very yellow in my photo, my point & click camera sucks. They're really a warm white color, they look like real headlights instead of HID's like normal white LED's do. I got these from Chaotic Crawlers and they run off a 9V battery.

These photos make them look kinda bad...but they do look a lot better in person.

This rig performed awesome out there!
I am surprised the dog didn't run away after all the wheelies and roll overs... sorry I tried to BMB it!

No real big updates lately...haven't started the interior. I may wait a while to do that. Got the mirror's installed today. Big deal! Ha.

Man I've been super impressed with this rig so far! We've done class 1 runs twice now at our local club comps and I won both of them! The weight is right, the suspension is great, solid little rig!

Got some video today, I'll try to get it up soon.

Got a bug shield put on this afternoon. It really needs some dings and dirt on it. It looks way too clean. I like it though!

Also put some grab bars at the doors...

For the shield id scratch it with some sand paper and rust the bolts, well screws lol. I love this rig but have you tried the tires the other way?

Thanks man! I haven't tried them the other way. I was watching a real TTC video and one of the rigs on there had them on backwards like this. I thought about it some and it seemed to make sense. If the tire slides on a rock (or whatever) the treads would pull the center of the tire toward whatever they're sliding on. When they're on the other way it would seem like the tire would want to slide off the obstacle. They probably clear mud better the other way though. I can tell you one thing, the tires are great!
