Got a couple 3s packs in the mailbox today.

All I have to say is bwaaaaaaahhhaaaaahaaaaahaaaa!

My first uber-cool manuever? A high speed traction roll in the driveway. My wife was less than impressed.

How long till I broke something? About 10 minutes. I wanted to see how much torque my rig now had, and planted my foot on top of one of the rear tires to see if it would flip itself over. I ended up snapping the rear output shaft on the trans.

This is gonna be fun! "thumbsup"

Hey Duuuuuuuude... When i first went LiPo in my rustler...it was an awesome feeling... then about 4 minutes into the run, no go.. lol. i grenaded the plaseic idler gear, and the diff( was locked).

So now, if you have a heavy foot ( er, i mean finger)... you will find all your weak links."thumbsup"

Lipo is great, just be extremely careful with them. They are well known for bursting into flames for little to no reason at all. Many people have lost their homes while charging up Lipo packs.

The great thing about Lipo is the amount of power and runtime you get in such a compact and light weight package.

I only decided on finally going to lipos after my bunker had been completed in the backyard. Two foot of concrete and 10 foot of depth should make charging my lipos safe.

um... no...

the reason LiPo packs blow up is either abuse, incorrect charging, and discharging them too far, and the biggest one... puncturing the pack( from a crash, or drop)... if used and cared for correctly, they are safe...

But... have respect for them...

Use a LiPo sack, and never leave a charging pack un attended. and Do Not leave them strapped in a rig. Good way to turn your $$$ rig into a bonfire.

Other than the output shaft, its been doing very well other than a few screws keep loosening up. I'd like to strap one into my sons B4, but I'm afraid it'll meet the same fate as your Rusty...

What, no delrin?

Not in the structure itself....that stuff's hard to bond ya know.

I did however use it in the manufacturing of the emergency slide.

In case of pack explosion, I can dive through a trap door in the floor where the slide awaits. Once through this trap door, a 1" thick piece of Kevlar slides over it so the blast is contained inside the bunker. The slide leads to a cave system beneath my house that I can make my way through utilizing a prepared Cree flashlight to a small dumbwaiter that leads up to the kitchen.

Had to take these necessary precautions with the intent of safely using a lipo...I have heard in good faith of at least 3 people on the internet tell me that they are that dangerous.

I reeeeeeeeealy want to go LiPo on my VXL powered stuff, I just reeeeeeeealy can't spend the money on the batteries and charger right now.....................:-(

oh shut up. no reason? how about improper charging or discharging? how about physically damaging the pack? ive never heard of a lipo pack spontaneously blowing up with no reason...

thankyou. this guy makes sense...

Been running lipo for 3 years now and haven't seen a single flame.
I'm kinda disappointed

ive been lipo for a year and only lost one pack, but still no flames.

The VXL don't do shit til you hit it with a big ass 3 cell.

I knew it would be in there somewhere...

Thats why I waited so long to switch. A couple of my stick packs are starting to die, so I made the jump. Its really not much more expensive than nimh/nicd. I got a used charger for $50, and a couple 3s packs for $22 each. Granted, a vxl system would require a bigger c rating, but I think you get the idea.

Hmmm... we should change your user name to VXL you have something in common

Now thats funny...
