Knockoff vanquish methods on ebay???

Thank you grammar police. Now that my post in an online forum has been spell/grammar checked. I can sleep at night knowing i have been corrected with your useless 2 cents.
That being said i would still rather drop and extra $140 on wheels supporting north American made then that jap crap.
:lmao: Awe I must have hurt your feelings because now you are throwing more insulting names around including directly at me. :flipoff:

By the way you still have some grammatical errors. "I" and "Jap" should be capitalized and those are just two of many mistakes. Please don't try to sleep well tonight. You should be studying the English language. :lmao::flipoff:

Now, let's be real. These wheels are not made in Japan. Products coming from Japan are world class products that are equal to or better than many products made in North America.

The wheels are made in China, and again, China produces billions of products and we use a lot of them every day. Just because things are made in China does not mean they are crap.

i think i will avoid the cast knock offs and stick with my theory VP 4 life there is no substitute and the quality and customer support from and worth every penny i pay for my wheels axles and parts

Guess you missed my post about having to fix the thread on brand new VP wheels? Don't get me wrong, I like them and have almost every VP product available for the Yeti but don't think they're perfect and can't make mistakes because like all of us, they certainly can.

I'd be a lot less concerned if I had to do that on a $65 set of wheels as opposed to the $180 set I had to, especially when I had to buy and pay for shipping on taps because they haven't moved to metric like pretty much every one else
.

Completely inexcusable to have that issue at that price! I would have forced VP to fix the issue. Did you try contacting them? If they were of no help I would have contacted my credit card company or PayPal.

I haven't had to tap any of my Fanquish wheels yet...just saying!

No, I didn't contact VP as I know I would've had to pay postage back to the US which would've cost as much if not more than the taps. Every wheel had at least one thread that wasn't clean, one had 5. Two of the wheels I was able to fix by working the screw in and out gradually effectively using the screw as a tap but with hardware that small I was very conscious of the amount of torque and a broken screw would've been an even bigger PITA. The other two wheels it was just too much of a risk and had to get proper taps.

I really wish I'd taken a photo of the mount of material the taps removed. It was far more than I was expecting. They were obviously done with a worn out tap.

I wonder how many people bought the Chinese versions of these wheels based on this thread?

I did....Not because of all the debate....But of those that had them seemed to be impressed with the quality for the money

I could go buy stock axial beadlocks or some cool looking aluminum wheels for the same price. And if they get scratched...their only $45, not $180"thumbsup"

when i get one of these knock offs and there are issues who do i get support from some moron across the planet thanks but no thanks VP for the win

You don't need customer support, you buy 4 sets and a case of beer for the same price.

Don't get me wrong I love my VP wheels and products, and DCW wheels8). BUT! I had to try a few sets of these and am excited to see them mounted up when I get home. It is an alternative for many to have nice set of bead locks. Those who want VP will buy VP, I sure wish it wouldn't take sales from some the great supporters of the hobby but we know that will not be the case. Many are blinded by the cost of products sometimes, especially when knockoff's are actually done up in decent fashion. VP wont go out of business because of these wheels, they've established themselves as a top shelf manufacturer and have nothing to fear. Now I gotta keep my eyes peeled for 2.2 8 holes:lmao:

EDIT: Ok, maybe they will be a little more effected than I thought...... almost 19k views on this thread lol. VP wont be going anywhere but still, D@#$!

A lot of talk here about VP and knock offs. I spends a lot of money on RC parts and I'm not a competitive driver / racer. I appreciate quality, craft, and us based manufacturing but with that, usually a knock off is good enough for my needs. If the VP wheels were the only alloy beadlock option, I likely couldn't bring myself to buy a set. Maybe but unlikely. I'd rather spend my cash on a Holmes or Castle setup.

Its been 10 days...and china post tracking isnt any help. thanks
FYI - you can enter your China Post tracking number into USPS's tracking website.

Under normal circumstances you should receive your wheels in about 2 weeks. But remember you happened to order your wheels during the busiest season of the year.
