Didn't have any hand in building these but I'm really excited for you to find reasons to hate them. Other than rc3wd quality hardware they are fawesome.

I will say this as an after though.. alot of the people mad about this haven't taken into account that the online stores that we all shop at are putting local Hobbie stores out of business but nobody is upset about that but are mad about a China knockoff instead of supporting American....just my .02

If people could get what they needed from the local shops they would shop there every time they needed something. They would gladly spend a little more to get everything that day rather than wait 3-10 days (local) or 2-4 weeks (international). Local shops have put themselves out of business by not stocking anything. There was a time when I just had to drive 10-15 minutes to get anything I needed from local suppliers. The last time half dozen times I tried to get something specific they once carried, I wasted fuel searching and still had to order what was needed from home.

I can't speak for others, but the non-stocking local shop came about long before I started ordering on-line. They were the reason I started ordering on-line.

Stretched some 1.7 iroks on and they were easier to mount than on the 1.7 wheels they were on.

I'm fortunate enough to have 2 hobby shops that carries anything I need between them and one store is owned by a member on here. But I have seen the decline but it didn't nose dive till Internet shopping went full swing in my opinion

My LHS doesnt carry anything I need and even if he did its atleast 15%+ higher priced. I'm not rich.

I'm super lucky, my LHS typically meets or beats online pricing.
Even on very premium aftermarket parts.

No good reason a brick and mortar can not operate an online store. Failure to keep up with the times is to blame, not the change in people's shopping habits.

I am glad you have a lhs to shop at, mine sucks.

I have sympathy for the LHS, but not enough to pay more. Often times, you can Get a $100 item discounted and shipped to your door for $85. I'd pay $109.75 for the same item at my LHS plus the costs of a 45 mile (one way) drive.

45mins one way ins't exactly local. ;-)

Also back on track....the 2.2s don't look as close as the 1.9s. they look more flat.

It's a slippery slope, and it does suck for both the customer and store owner. As soon as someone has to order something on-line because the local can't or just won't stock it, the customer realizes he can save a bundle on everything else. He starts shopping on-line, the local guy loses business. Local guy has to stock less due to less income, less stock means more on-line buyers, etc. etc.. It keeps on like this until the local shop can only stock shock oil, Pro-Line tires and Mt. Dew.

Ditchrat has a point, I know of a few junk peddlers who seem to make a decent living selling low grade Chinese electronics and batteries on-line and one who produce questionable small parts machine work to sell over the net.

Awesome. Hopefully the "true cans" fit those

Unfortunately they haven't been available for some time now. I bought a set of VP wheel wideners from BmachineRC (BDN here on the forum) that look good and I'll be fitting those up during my build over the Xmas break but the can size is the only reason I haven't already ordered a set of these knockoff 2.2 to try out.
