Kurtus420 creeper/ax10 hybrid Frogger build

for your upper link shock problem try puting the shock on the outer side of the tab and the lower link in the tab that will give you more clearance"thumbsup"

Kurt..I honestly wish I had the trusses in production when you ordered the Creeper Link...the trusses have so much adjustability that moving the links for clearance is a thing of the past...and talk about stout...DAMN!...I actually tied a heavy 1/4" cord to the end of my front axle after it was all trussed up and picked up my couch with it......Juggernaught trusses may be the new name for these...

Im glad you are liking the Creeper Link though...and that its doing its job well.

Oh...btw...the tranny had a couple of mangled gears inside...one of the screws for the skid plate had punctured the inside of the trans case and cut a nice groove in the idler gear...and when the screw was put in it crushed a single tooth on the gear and made a lock up poin tin the gear...the tranny would only rotate about 70% then lock when it hit that crushed tooth...I disassembled the trans and found the issues and cut the bad spot off of the gear and I got it to rotate but there is still a hangup point...

and just so you know..you had the final gear flipped on the main shaft....I just unbolted it and mounted it to the other side of the main shaft flange.

Damn Thomas I had no idea on the gears, I think it happened when I pulled it all apart and then screwed them back in after, I never noticed any problems out running with fred000. At any rate what can we do to fix this problem, what's a new gearset worth?

I'm guessing it was the screw that holds the lower links on at the skid? Dude, I'm so sorry about this. I remember cranking down on those screws and not really thinking about it without the links in place:oops:. As for the flipped gear, that was newby move when I built it 2 years ago. This was my first rc. Anyways, I'm happy to pay for a new gearset to fix this.

Took the frogger back for round 2 at the test site for some more tuning, found that my 2.5 springs on the rear are now too stiff for my setup and I'm waiting on the axial 70mm whites now to try instead. Testing went great once I started to get the feel for the truck and I caught a bit of it on video but again I am proned to failure. Was totally my fault cause I basically fell off a 4 foot drop but all the weight landed on the front right tire(long shaft) and sheared the cvd shaft to bits:cry:. Gotta find a long shaft like quick to get this back out but I'll post up the video I got later today, I haven't looked at it yet and it was starting to get dark out so I hope it turned out ok.

So I will have to shelf this until I get my 35t motor, I am putting a slipper on the tranny to take some of the stress out of the setup, installed the steel hr gears already(work great), gotta install the fxr and I still gotta get the gearscience inside of the trans so she waits for a bit.

Its all good bro..you handled the issue...Ive got no gripe at all with you. You had a stand up response to a unforseen although avoidable situation...Im fine with the turn out.

Your rig is looking good...hows the Creeper Link treating you? How do you like the BEC jacks?

Creeper link is one of the favorite items on my rig, this thing just flat out works great now with the exception of a few tuning issues. Bec jacks are such a great idea too because I was never a fan of cutting up my $100+ servos to direct wire them, great addition to my scaler running and additional winch"thumbsup". Thx for being cool with the situation man, I appreciate that you realize it was just a pure accident8). Glad to hear the tranny actually helped you out in the end as is too:mrgreen:. Thx for the great products man, and those trusses you are making are bad ass, might be looking into those when you get the setup part of it all sorted.

looks great kurtus, the flip at the 4minute mark was the best part to me. hey how much did u pay for your full dig setup for that?

It was a damn smooth landing too"thumbsup" wish I caught that on film;-), my fav as well lol. The dig setup came with the axial tranny for $105 second hand. I did just see a vp dig thats new for sale in the forums for 80 shipped I believe which is a good deal but you can find them complete with trans for 100-115 range. This is the only dig I have been able to bind up hard in a dig with the throttle on pulling hard and it still releases"thumbsup". Never let me down yet and is the only mech dig I will ever run again.8)

There are only 3 good options but 1 is only avialable as new now. Options are the eritex dig, vf/dna dig with steel internals or a vp dig best out of the bunch but most expensive. I have used the dna dig and it is good but still hung up a bit or skipped in a hard dig, never tried eritex but heard good things, vp well worth the extra money"thumbsup"

Alright so round 3, got the new long cvd shaft and installed it, installed the fxr and the slipper clutch too. Took it out for a test drive and boom, sucker punched right in the nose:shock:. Here's a few picks and some shots after I fixed it with the spare topper I bought off of Casey, so glad I did that "thumbsup". This thing is going to kill me, 3 for 3 now:evil:, I think it's best I just hand it over to my daughter so she can actually get some enjoyment out of it rather than wait for parts that dad broke:lmao:.
