Wow, this might actually be? I sure hope they are worth the wait. Now to go find out WHERE AND HOW MUCH to buy them...

I really don't get the whole cloak and dagger marketing, why not just announce the price?

You know, build the buzz, make um wait, then hit them with the $!!!!! They are not going to be cheap..... I would guess the average Joe won't be able to build a course with these in his basement or garage.... But, damn they are awesome! It would be great to be able to have a set up in house to practice everyday! Shipping won't be cheap either..... I think that's why we haven't been told a price or even a guess yet, it would scare to many people off.....

I agree. These are obviously gonna be expensive, and if they had jumped right in and listed the prices and shipping costs there are a ton of folks that would never have looked in this thread again. By not listing the price, everyone has time to get interested in them to a point where they decide cost doesn't matter. I'd love to have some of these myself. I wanna do some kinda setup in my living room that I can somehow attach to my fireplace. "thumbsup"

Yes, the rocks ended up costing way more to produce than first expected and may not be in the price range for the average Joe. Price on the rock pods will most likely be right around the $50 mark. Each rock pod consists of multiple rocks in varying shapes and sizes. Each pod measures approx. 30" in diameter. Shipping for two rocks, which is how they are packed will run around $20 to the east coast via fedex. We ship out of California, so shipping will vary depending on how far you are from the warehouse. In the future we will have the rocks stocked in our Kentucky warehouse, which will help on shipping costs to the east coast.

We are putting much of our marketing efforts into getting these into the hobby stores for display and testing of the rock crawlers in store. I think it will really help sales of the rock crawling trucks if more new customers can test out the trucks right on the store floor. The rocks will also serve as a good display base for the trucks on the shelf of any typical hobby store.

when and where do we order???

Our factory promised first production would arrive in our warehouse by end of the week, next week. We have had many delays and broken promises with this first run and I would like to wait until we actually have them in our warehouse before I take any orders. You can send us an email at rcptracksinfo@sbcglobal.net and I will send you all details on purchasing later next week.

Thanks,
John

Not to be disrespectful, these do seem like a really cool product that will find their niche.
But our club is gonna do the same thing with a car trailer full of rocks that will only cost 3 or 4 guys an hour or two of tossing rocks on a trailer...........

How many rocks are in a "Pod"? How many "Pods" would you need to set up one course say 5 gates for 2.2?

Sorry in advance for the long explanation below.

See pictures below. The first picture shows each of the four different pods that we have coming out of the first production. Each pod consists of varying size and shaped rock formations and each of the four pods are different from each other.

Looking at the photo below, you can see how each pod slopes from 1" ~ 6". Each rock pod can spin 6 different ways on each base and each base can spin 6 different ways in relation to other connecting rock pods. With this unique design, you can see how many different lines or gates can be created with just 4 rock pods. There are tabs incorporated into the base that the rock pods slide over to secure the rocks to the base. We can make some optional custom bases with different heights or with out the slope. The bases are not made the same as the rocks. They are cut out of foam and hard coated. The rocks consist of a special two part mix that is poured into a mold. The rocks are solid all the way through. They are not a shell.

You can approach each rock pod from different locations, so the gates don't have to be in line to each other. You can have one gate entering from the front and then approach another gate from the back side. You can then spin the rocks or the bases and approach from the same location but with a completely different line set up.

A hobby store can purchase just a few pods and use them as vehicle display or easily put them on the floor for customer demo. They are easy to move around. At the end of the day, the rocks can be picked up and put back on the shelf or storage area. The rocks will also work well for vehicle display at trade shows and similar special events. I believe the rocks will be most popular and more suited in the hobby store environment, with a smaller amount of sales going to the home or club user. Do to the high cost of production, the average RC user may not want to spend the money for artificial products compared to just going outside and crawling on the natural terrain. I could be wrong. Most of our email inquiries from the past 6 months have come from hobby stores and special event organizers. You will most likely see a bunch of rocks poping up overseas, as we are working with a few larger hobby distributors looking to import.

Great looking product being in a wheelchair these will make it easier for me to set up a course, worth the cost to me.
I'm going to let my LHS know about these and maybe do a bigger order with them. Waiting to hear back on shipping to Canada.
thanks John

who cares about spinning...my heads spinning, what's the price per pod??? is that really just high density two part foam with sand mixed in with bedliner? I saw a video of Badger falling through, ...so not only are they fizzle from spinning but priceless too? what gives? how about instead of repeating the same shpeal about spinning, tell us where and how much...omg...i'm dizzy, i gotta sit down.
and why the rock pile? when I'm in the back forty, i don't crawl over cantelope sized rocks. no one does. what's the weight of a pod and is it heavy enough to just place one on the floor and crawl over it or will they push around like on the videos i've seen?
also, what does will probably sorta if consumers don't flintch, cost around $50.00 per pod really mean? what's the price for the bases and i'm not trying to be rude, just forward, but why keep telling us things we already know...that we can approach them from any angle...i mean seriously, we know that...anyway....
