After months of pestering him, I was finally able to get my hands on "Eric's Mog".... as a trade for another Unimog. :ror:

I love his build so far and wanted this truck to "mostly" help us showcase parts. I also think it is a stout unit and plan on putting it through it's paces.

To get this truck though.... I first had to get another Mog for Eric. Luckily, he tends to be in the classifieds a lot ;-) and he came across this truck:

For Eric, that truck is great because it has lighter tube work out back. One of his major complaints about the truck I am getting is that it is soooo heavy. And I can confirm it is not a super light weight rig. I get 4lbs 3.5oz with no wheels, tires body!

As part of the deal, Eric wanted to keep his portal axles, wheels & tires, transmission, custom skid plate and electronics... and that is all fine by me, so let the swapping begin!

Here is a side by side shot of both chassis:

Now, some bare chassis shots so I can remember what I started with later on:

And now on to what I'm working with (pictures so I can remember later)
HD gears with underdrive front.

With the transmission swap, I ran into a few quirks. One was trimming the stock Axial spur gear guard mount setup to fit under the tunnel. No big deal though, I don't run a guard.

Unknown brand of C-hub, VP standard ackermann knuckles and Axial CVDs:

Finally got my license plate back.:flipoff:

Will need to configure servo winch while I do the CMS.

It took us a good part of the night to finish swapping it all over and I now have a wish list:
New transmission case (mine has stripped holes)
Slipper Eliminator
Black rear lockouts (I don't like the gray)
Zero Ackermann Knuckles
Less blocky C-Hubs
New Spools (Current spools have slop)
OTVDs (Installed Axial units are beat)
Pro CMS (trackbar and hand brothers setup rub on each other currently)
Electronics TBD
Cab. Eric has a hard Cab for me but forgot to bring it. Will need some paint and glass work
New Wheels ... nothing "wrong" with the wheels that came on here but I make wheels for a living so ... yeah. I'm considering bringing back the Difuser Plus anyway. So...."thumbsup"

Anyway, as it sits now:
