I guess I keep buying cheap hex wrenches because I keep going through them. What do you guys think of some of the better hex wrenches for a decent price?

Looking for a good set of hex drivers

i went through this the other day.. i got tired of stripping the cheap ass hex drivers from auto stores..
i had a bunch of cash so i made a list for the LHS so when i got there i picked up some other expensive shit and i found a set of Team Associated hex drivers for $49.00 so i bought them and love them so far!! its got 7 drivers in the set, hollow aluminum handle very light weight and has replaceable hex shafts. i came home tore into the package and swapped 8 tires by hand with the 1.5mm no problems.. no stripping plus i tighten up a bunch of other screws. the drivers and the package will say "factory team" on them but they are team associated.
it took me a while to decide if i want them but im glad i bought them. i run my rigs on my course here at home quite a bit and they are usually cut short because of a loose nut or screw or something stupid then have to come inside and deal with the tools stripping out..:shock::roll:
there's lots of tools available.. axial has a set for $59.00 on towerhobbies. EDS tools apparently have some but they are on the expensive side. also get a brand name set,

Thanks. I'll check those out and see if I can find some on sale somewhere. I'm sick of using Home Depot allen wrenches!

ya i got fed up with them too especially on driveshaft grub screws.. you cant really crank down on them!!

Only set i have yet to strip out is my Snap On set. one came a little loose in the handle and he handed me a new one "thumbsup" came with 7 sizes metric and standard and only cost 50 bucks. cant go wrong there. Snap on comes to my shop every week tho and i know most dont have that option....just sayin

Mip have been amazing for me. Had mine for around 6 years I thing it is now and the only thing that makes them not look brand new is they are a little dirty but the hex's are in perfect shape. I have tried eds and others but I have found the mip's to be the most comfortable after long wrench sessions.

I was using some cheap HK ones and i upgraded to the Losi Race Wrench set and i must say they are worlds apart the Losi ones are so much better IMO well worth the extra spend...
I have the Dynamite metric Starter kit. I read some mixed reviews on it, but the price was right. Ive used Matco and Snap-On tools before, but this set works just fine for me. I use it on my SCX and my Slash. Have yet to strip either a tool end or a bolt head. The handle that it comes with works well enough and the carrying case is nicer than what comes with some high end tool sets ive used. I paid about $25 for my set, definitely worth it in my opinion.
I think the reviews saying they broke the ratchet handle were just people being ham handed when they should have been using blue loctite instead.

I have those combined with these, Hudy Limited Edition Tool Set w/Carrying Bag [HUD190005] | Tools - A Main Hobbies.
The Losi's being short are great if you need to apply a lot of torque to a fastner. The Hudy's are feather lite and longer.

I've been using the Team Associated (Factory Team) set for years now, only had to replace a tip once but that was the .050". The Dynamite ones work well as well but I prefer the color coding on the Associated set.

Have you ever priced HUDY tools? Try buying all the tools in the set individually and see how much you spend.:shock:
I've built 3 rigs with them and they show 0 signs of wear.
man I been in the hobby since 1994 and I pick my real set of tool in 2000 and they were HUDY and I still got them yes they are spence but work it, the other tool I have are the EDS they are same quality of hudy and a bid shipperr and they are made in usa and easy to get hudy is not that easy to get replacement hope this help you !!!

new2it, I picked these Ed's tools 6 Pack for $50 bucks about 3 mths ago at my LHS called Warricks Hobby Store in Ft. Lauderdale Fl. I don't know if it was a miss place price sticker or on sale at the time but I jump all over them cause i know they are exspensive great tools, they last long and works great for my Axial Wraith and will be getting some more little by little. "thumbsup"

I have this Dynomite set in both metric and inch. I bought the inch set when I got my LCC, and liked them so much I bought the metric set. I have been using them for a couple of years. The quality is very good, they have hollow aluminum handles (makes them light), replaceable tips (never had to yet), a plastic end on the handle that spins freely of the handle, and a flat on the handle so they don't roll off the workbench. The plastic piece on the handles are color coded for easy identification, blue for metric, orange for inch. They are generally priced a little cheaper than other quality drivers. I highly recommend them.
