I was curious, I want to build a Baja rey, but they dont exist....

I already have a nice rock rey so added up everything the horizon rep told me I'd need.

FYI the Rock Rey Kit is on clearance at 249...

Body Set $ 84.99
Body Button set $ 9.99
Roll Cage Sides $ 15.99
Roll Cage Top Bar X-Bar Cover tire mount $ 14.99
Roll Cage FF Bar Body Mount Bar Bumper Tower Support $ 23.99
Front Bumper & Skid Plate $ 9.99
Front Upper Arm/Shock Mount Rear Chassis $ 7.99
Front Axle Set $ 53.99
Lightened Front Outdrive Set $ 13.99

Wheels/Tires

Total conversion to a "Baja Rey Kit"

$512.89 vs $449 RTR

with throw out electronics.

I wish companies (company!) offered more kits. Its a shame the Rock Rey did so poorly, its a quality build, one of the better I've built (out of 60+ kits)

Its not like they blister pack display everything like tamiya did in the 80s. Kits should cost LESS.

I dont understand it... /rant over

hope this helps someone... I'm waiting for a chassis/roller or used one.

To be fair, the cost of electronics have to be taken into consideration because they could easily push that $512.89 into the same price range as a Traxxas UDR.

But overall I still completely agree with what you're getting at, and its good to have that list of parts in one place. "thumbsup"
