Hey Everyone,

First time poster and new to the RC crawler world. I am running a castle creations Mamba X with a Savox 1270TG on 3s Lipo. I understand that the Mamba has a built in BEC. However the servo is extremely loud at idle (center ?). This occurs even if the servo is removed from the steering linkage as to eliminate any possible tension. Even the slightest touch to the servo horn sends it into this high pitch whine. Is this normal ? Please see link to video below.

Yeah savox is VERY noisy

I had one and switch to a Holmes Hobbies shv500v2. The Holmes makes no sound at all except the gears turning.

The Holmes Hobbies SHV500V2 fits the bill with the added advantage of not needing an external BEC even on a stock ESC as it can run directly off of the battery up to 4S. Spare gear sets are available at reasonable prices.

Savox is loud and annoying. That's why I'm trying to move away from them.

The ProModeler 460 is quiet, but the performance of mine is underwhelming.

Thanks for the feedback. Not really picky but it’s extremely loud and no adjustments within the ESC voltage or transmitter seem to fix it. Fax machine has to go.
