I have done the marble effect on a J-Concept Raptor with Pearl Blue backed by Sky blue and it turned out really good. My next project is going to be a sugar free Monster Energy body (seeing that I'm type 1 diabetic) and i want to do a black and blue marble. My question is can i get away with backing the black in the marble with the sky blue to match the decals or do i have to use the pearl blue (the darker color) for the effect to work? Thanks in advance guys!

Decided to do a custom mix of the pearl blue and the sky blue. Came out pretty well. I had to use Krylon Fusion for the black since my fasblack was the thickness and consistency of chunky peanut butter. The sky blue looked white on the test panel, and the pearl was a little too dark, but i am happy with the results.

To use black with the marble effect, spray the black first, marble it, then spray the color. The darker color should go on first. Food for thought for the body."thumbsup"

I wish I'd seen this sooner

Yea....

Always spray dark to light (when painting from the inside) otherwise your dark colors may show through the lighter colors, or have other effects on the appearance.

Yeah sprayed the black first, but it dried as soon as it hit the body and it was a challenge to marble it so there is a lot more black than i really intended. On the test panel i did the sky blue looked almost white behind the black so thats why i mixed the two blues together for the shade i was after. I really wish it would stop raining to i could get some shots of the truck in the sun so you all can see what i mean.

When I am doing the marble effect I will spray a small area, hit it up with the seran wrap, and then continue with another small area. This ensures that I can get to it before the paint dries and makes it a bit more manageable.

Yeah, even doing one panel at a time Fusion simply dries too fast. Gonna call parma today and find out what is going on with my paint globbing so that the next body i can use faskolor from beginning to end.

Here's the pics of the truck, mounted to my stampede based trophy truck. Would like to try a black/ orange marble next. I know harley would approve!
