Max Battery Size

I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread on battery size, aka which batteries fit the stock tray. They advertise that it fits 3s 5000mah but from what I am finding there are alot of 3s 5000mah that will not fit so it would be good to know which do. Below are the details from the Axial website. For those of you who have your kits, please post of up what 'Max Size' batteries you have that fit!

The SMC 3s 40c 4300mah should fit. I run this in my Bomber, w/good results.
Factory Spec 11.1V 4300mAh 40C Traxxas

My SMC 3s 50c 5000mah is a bit big, looks like that battery box is getting modified.

I have a Venom 5000 mah 3s in a hard case that doesn't fit, just barely too large (it starts bending the tray when you put it in).

My SMC 5000 mah 2s 40C batteries fit great, will probably install one or two of the posts to help contain them.

I've looked for hard case 3s battery's and can't find any that fit there advertised size. Even looking at 4000mah and they are to big. Are people running soft case batteries in there trucks?

The above hardcase 3s should fit as it's less than 139x47x26.

I run the 3S ONXY 5000 soft pack from Duratrax and I get 3 hours of run time with a 35 turn motor

That is exactly what I bought for my build. I like the sound of that runtime! "thumbsup"

I run a zippy 4000 3s from hobby king. They are 40C. It is a soft pack. They cost 20 bucks!

Its all I use because of the high discharge and good price.

I run the smc 3s 4300 hard pack. Fits great and it is lighter than almost all of its competition. It is like 293 grams. Great packs with like 4+ hours runtime on 2200kv puller pro setup.

I dont want to derail this thread but what kind of run time are you guys getting with 3S batteries? I have a fistful of 3S 2200

I understand it will make a difference whether brushed or brushless so please post up run times and what type of motor you have.
