I've decided to make a wee FJ40, since finding an affordable model kit of one. It will be styled similar to my Steelhead build.

Here are some pics, showing where I'm at. Check it:

Got the hinges here:

Phoenix Models 2005 Miniature Brass Hinge & Hardware Range

Motor is a Pololu 50:1 with 1:1 transfer, and winch is 100:1

The steering servo will be covered with a styrene, wooden weapons crate.
A 4-dip switch for turning features on/of, and a wee ESC from Fingertech. It's really smooth, and the low speed control is the best I've ever had in this, being the 9th rebuild of my micro scaler.

Nice Stuff! Great skills man!

Thanx.

Very, very cool. I love it!

Ya, it's coming along.

Thanks niglepheron I need that little carbon fibre piece

Glad you're inspired.

Looks great bud! Your work is always super clean!

Thanx. Nothing to your master pieces yet.

Well, got a wee bit a progress. I can now remove the running gear, and sand the whole thing, ready fer paint.

Discovered a cool way to bend 3/32 styrene tube as well. I put a piece of K&S metals brass rod inside the styrene tube, then shaped it at will. Also make the tube a little more stronger. Can't wait to do the cage-work.

Don't know how I missed this one

It looks great, one of my all time favorite rigs & you sir are doing it justice "thumbsup"

Keep the updates coming!

Hinges in, and winch functional. Lucked out with the brass hinges matching the brass winch hook. Might have to add some more brass here & there.

Here it is in some pose'n shots:
