Mid engine class 3 buggy

What is bad about this buggy is no matter how scale I make it. A one seater buggy is only worth 36 scale points. Even if I follow every last detail and throw junk in my trunk, 36 points. So depending on the cap this is could be a huge points loss. LOL. So It had better work well!

Tubers don't make it easy and without a hardbody or even a custom body it is a fight. But that is sorta the point of the scale points. So I do believe in them.....
But here is my 2 cents:
Tuber - 8
Panels - 1
Sliders - 3
Inner fenders - 2
Bumpers w/ stinger - 7
Lightbar - 1
Interior - 3
Engine - 4
Tcase - 4
Front CMS - 5
Scale toys - 14

Check my math but that is -52pt...... So 2 points to spare and your not playing with dolls just to max out."thumbsup"

Mine can't have sliders, it's a rock buggy. Can't have inner fender wells, can't have bumper but I can have a stinger.

no rock buggy in existance has cms. And I am not mounting it on the chassis just for points ( Which cms should only apply to class one) but anywho.....

And on the transfer case. Does mine count as a transfer case? I mean technically it should because the motor is seperate. If so that would put me at 40. That I can be competitive with I think?

The first buggy you have posted for inspiration has bumpers, and sliders on a buggy are normal and can be made to protect your panels.
If your using the Zuki motor mount - it gets tcase points.

And I agree on the CMS - I hate seeing a steering box on a TTC rig or buggy with 40plus inch tires. but each their own.

Ill post you some photos when I get home for sliders and bumpers, they wont look out of place on what your doing.

Got a little more tube work done. Starting to take shape a little. Also got the lower link mounts roughed in. Weighs 5.3oz so far and half of the tubework is done. So it's going to be a little lighter than expected. 5 3/8" across the door area should be plenty wide to keep me legal.

Anyways I made a Panhard mount tonight. Yes it took me that long! And it is ok. I may do a little reshaping later. But here is the font axle. Between winch and mounts it's an extra 3oz. Not bad at all considering this rig will have no wheel or knuckle weights added and the servo somewhat hidden.

Love this. Screw the scale points! Just have fun build a "true scale rock crawler".

Also, it's super refreshing to see this build in the trend of U4 rigs. Don't get me wrong, u4 is great, but it's still nice to see a full tubed crawler build!

The shock choice was tough. I love the looks of the rc4wd ultimate scale shocks.....BUTT! Not very scale travel, and simply do not work well. So i went with the hr 120mm shocks. I will strip the black. And I have a mod I do to these that make them smooth as silk!

Oh, and scale wise (most important) they are like running 14" shocks in 1:1. They have over 1.5" of travel. Where the ultimates are like run in a 10" shock.

I run full droop like the 1:1's incase you were wondering.

Last year's rocks buggy. It worked awesome and got me several class 3 wins. But this year I am going to try and step it up a notch. More detail, and even better performance.

Got some more work done in the chassis. Probably 3/4 finished now. Weight is 8.1oz. I was figuring a lb. So i am way under which is good. Hard to tell from the pictures but this chassis really is pretty uniform. Best one I have done yet. Very happy so far with it. All the welds are very solid. Should work great!

It's hard for me to build anything straight! But yes I agree.
