When the Mini LMT came out I wanted one bad, when Megalodon released, I was done.
I wanted to do a build like my large LMT; over powered the way a monster truck should be!

I picked up a whole bunch of different motors to try along with a Spectrum 2-1 that I had from another mini. I wasn't happy with it. I ended up shoehorning in a Velineon 380 motor that I paired with a Furitek ESC I had.
Unfortunately I couldn't get the motor to turn using that ESC. I tried every setting possible. Only thing the worked for two seconds was changing the BEC voltage, it responded positively for a few rips on the TX, then it stopped. It just seemed like the drive train was binding up, which I knew it wasn't.

Like an idiot I tried a few different ESC's that were unfortunately not compatible with sensorless motors. Had I looked at the complete instructions instead of just ripping the package open and soldering I would have saved a few evenings (I was trying to keep the packaging small).

In frustration I went to my LHS. We talked about it for a bit. I determined that it had to be the ESC for whatever reason. The specs matched up the the motor, but I suspected it didn't have the jam. I elected for a tried-and-true unit I have used in the past; a NIP CC MMP they had on the shelf.

I soldered that baby up tonight... AANNDDD immediately ran into Castle Link connection issues on my laptop.

I honestly spent two to three hours messing with it. Out of nowhere I finally got it to connect for a second time, I then hastily made the changes and saved it.
Not sure why my computer suddenly decided it didn't want to recognize that USB CC Link. I wasn't touching it at the time it stopped working. Just reviewing the settings when ZAP, it just quit.

Anyway, glad it's done and I'm looking forward to getting it out for a rip in the coming days!

Mini LMT
- Spektrum SX108 servo
- CC MMP (BEC @ 6.0v)
- Velineon 380 Motor
- Spektrum SR310 (DX2e)

I got the body mounted up today.
I had to move the RX forward 1/2" to clear the roll cage. I also had to remove the body mount on the motor side along with the lexan driver figure over the ESC. It looks so sick though!
I didn't have a fully charged pack, but something from storage, with the transmitter set to 75% it will instantly pull wheelies on grass. AND the motor was ice cold

Here it is, done! For now.. I'm sure I'll have to put a servo in it at some point.

Thanks!
No, I haven't taken the time to figure that out.
It was NIP. Whole thing was strange. Almost like it couldn't sense the rotor rotation.

I will eventually hook-up some stuff on the beach to test and report back.
