Does anyone ever use the Losi mini lst2 for a scaler build? I've actually got 2 of them sitting in a box beggin to be used again.

that looked like a sweet build. great articulation and ground clearance. I'm surprised you stopped when being so far into the build. How much can the mini lst drive train handle. I thought about going to a 540-55t.

I have one also, I thought someday I might start a ultra 400 "Harley type build " with the mlst2 front end and rear MRC axle. hmmmm lots to think about"thumbsup"

I tried it, never posted much about it though. Here are the issues I had:

Weak drivetrain. - The dogbones are not strong enough for crawling, they're barely strong enough under box-stock conditions. If you upgrade the front dogbones to CVDs and use the MRC metal lockers, it might work fine. You might want to switch out the dog-bone cups in the center transmission with a MRC locker and MRC output shafts so you can use MRC or Mini E-Revo srive shafts.

Width, the MRC axle is narrower than the MLST axle, but can be widened. Not that big of a deal, but something to consider.

If you plan on using a 540 motor, you will need a transmission with 4mm output shafts, or find a way to get the driveshafts to have 4mm shafts on the axle ends.

It can be done, but the biggest issue is strengthening the drivetrain.

Yep, drivetrain is the biggest issue in these little buggers. I got one in a trade earlier in the year. Guy got it in a trade and never did anything with it. I got it here for the used RC go over and got a nice surprise. All diffs have been replaced with ball diffs. I have ran the hell out of it with a 2s lipo and have't broken anything (yet) I also have the CM36 combo to put in it, just havent done it..

yes, and no...

The MLST2 has metal ring and pinion diff gears, but the internal spider gears and the internal transmission gears remain the cheap brittle plastic from the MLST1.

On mine, I ended up glue-locking the rear diff, and getting a spool for the center diff. I expect the front diff gears will go very soon, but the thing bent dogbones after only a few seconds, so I won't know until I upgrade to CVDS, this truck is low on my list though.

where can I get a stronger trans gear,I hurd of putting a e revo trans in it but it didn't realy tell how or what mods,I just bought it and havn't even gotten it in the mail yet,I just don't want to break a gear and not be able to play with it,and if they are as weak as yall say,I got the limited edition so it comes with 2cell lipoes so I don''t think it will last to long.

I'm currently working on a scale build with one my parts list includes alum knuckles and c's, cvd's, and cant decide if I'll use the mlst tranny or the mrc...If you bought the MLST2 you need to worry about servo's and if you shim your front and rear diff you'll be fine for a while.
