I have a castle 7700kv 4 pole non sensor that has been laying around and a castle sidewinder 3. My question is anybody running this setup if so what gearing I do not know where to start with this setup

Gotta be more positive! 2S lipo, 14/87 gearing cause that leaves the option of a couple teeth fewer if you want. "thumbsup"

It was in a vaterra ecx haha. We'll I mean I was just wanting the wheel speed. I have a tekin 45t and fxr on 2s but heck it's no fun like my old wraith. Anybody have any suggestions for the tekin or the castle gearing wise

Yeah I think this is a 45 heavy duty or something of that nature. What other options do I have on brushed motors. Any ideas of what gearing to run on this 45t with 2s or 3s. It's got stock spur and then 17 I do believe

It depends on what you want it to do. If you want crawlability and high speed, you gotta go brushless. If you want crawlability and decently quick, 4s lipo with a 35T geared 90/14. That's my setup at the moment and it's great for me. However. I will be going brushless one of these days.

If you wanna try it then go for it. Sure the kv is way higher than usual so get a large spur and small pinion. I would still expect it to cog at slow speed but it might be manageable. Definitely has a lot of wheel speed :ror:

I've got one of those motors and due to boredom I've thrown it into an scx before. I geared it like 87/12 and it was pretty quick but of course no low end torque. Not much cogging unless you really try real technical crawling. That motor tends to heat up though. I don't recommend it long term but its fun to try. :D
