My first Axial and Second build.

Thrashed the new truck today! Real happy with it.

:)Thanks guys!

Upgrades - I would like to add a winch.

Also need to dial in the suspension. I will put spacers on the top shock mounts, they seem to bind a bit. Stock set up is medium springs front and soft rear. I will swap this and angle the rear shock forward to the front mounting hole.

This will cause the rear drive shaft to bind on the spur gear housing so I need to modify it.

If these changes aren’t enough I will go to other shocks.

After that, we will see. The need to tinker is strong!

I built a nice Class 1 truck. Enjoyed the process and now want to build a second truck.

This will be old hat to most of you, but all new to me. I will be using a SCX 10.2 Builders kit to build a Class 2 rig.

Going to try to stay relatively budget friendly.

Holmes Hobby CrawlMaster Sport 540 13T motor, Reedy SC480X ESC, Ecopower WP120T servo, Proline wheels and 4.75” Hyrax tires and using a JConcepts Ford Tucked body. Will also under drive the rear axle with the Vanquish 33T/8T ring and pinion.

I have already found a lot of info on the forum on the kit. I want to thank you all in advance for tips and tricks you have shared!

Great thread SlooDon! I am starting a very similar build soon. Going not quite as much budget build, I have a Mamba X and a 6 shooter 2700 kV brushless for power lined up. Hoping to start this weekend.

I've seen your name on the Harley Designs live stream chats?

Enjoy your build!

Yes I like the live streams, can be hilarious at times! I also have picked up some tips.

Fun to listen while working on the kits and chime in occasionally!

I looked at both also.

I’m a Ford truck guy 1:1 so finally went that way.

Both are good looking bodies.

2nd run after putting axial White springs on the front and Green on the rear.

I have about 20% sag font and 5% rear. Smoother all around and does not hop when trail running. Looks more scale while running.

It crawls better and is less prone to flip, over backwards on steep lines.

Had to get rid of the front bumper. Way too big. Also got more springs for the Incision shocks on the way. Plus shock keys for more tuning.

The over drive gears for the front axle came in along with some different pinions to make some gearing changes.

Version three on the way!

Bumpers on and DSM kit relocated. I’m kind of proud of how I redid the front and rear mounting points on the DSM!

I also lowered the body some more.
