what is wrong with the stock links? they look okay :roll:

TLTryan has been using them with no problem yet

They work best when you tringulate both uppers and lowers. It takes some of the slop out of them. I tried it reverse triangulated, having the lowers triangulated and uppers parallel and they had way to much slop.

Ok i just had to drive it so i narrowed a set of plastic hexes and glued them in a old set of 8 shooters. It is still way to wide(10 3/4 ) but it is drivable.

I decided to do away with the rear lockouts before i took it for a spin to.
I cut the steering arm off the knuckle.
I then drilled and taped the front of the knuckle for 3mm
I used a 4 mm set screw and 2 revo ends. It bolted to the stock lockout hole in the axle tube and then to the hole i put in the knuckle.

that lockout set-up looks super clean! i like it

They are clean and easy. The only thing is you need to run a washer on the out side of the revo end just to be sure it does not pop off.

Well i had a chance to drive this rig around for a few minutes while i was at work.
All i can say is WOW This thing will climb stuff that i never thought possible with a 2.2. I also can not get over how stable it is. When the new wheels get here i think i am going to go down on the weight i usually add to the wheels.
The other thing i noticed is even with the wheels having the wrong offset the truck does so well that you do not even notice that it is 3/4of a inch wider than i am use to.

Well my 8 year old went to work with me so he filmed a few climbs. He had the shakes with the camera so try not to get sick .

I would go with the Berg axles FOR SURE

yea personally, i actually bought my wheely king because everyone and his second cousin were getting axials...i like to be different and i would proudly buy these axles waay before axial's. no dirt to axial.

Well Mayhem really pulled through on getting me a set of wheels.
They are killer looking and the offset looks great to.
It was a little work getting the Panthers to bead up correctly but the finished product was well worth it. I should also say i am very happy i have a 90degree air drill for all the beadlock screws.
I also cut and painted a new lid. Nothing fancy but i like it.

Oh he helped. I could have had him send me a 8hole ring but i think all the screws look cool. We also had help from a right angle air drill;-)

So what are you at for width now?

I am now at 10.25 I think that is going to be a good place.
The VF whell puts you at 10inches but i think it puts the tire to close to the steering.

I really like the way the Mayhem wheels look ,fit,And so far hold the bead.They are for sure a good choice.

I was having a hell of a time mounting up a set of panthers tonight :roll: Measured the inner bead and it was a hair over 2.4". Was this your issue as well? Really makes the process take forever :lol:

I have never had any trouble mounting the Panther tire before.
My problem was just lack of knowledge on how to mount the tire on this wheel. I was having issues with keeping the tire in the bead channel of thew wheel. I now know what was causing it .

Sit the tire on the rim and center it up. Then sit the ring on the tire and start two screws. The part of the tire that usually sits around the outside edge of the lock ring needs to sit under the ring at first. After you have all the screws tight take your thumb and walk that part of the tire out from under the ring and your done. If you set the ring down in the bead first it causes the tire bead to fold and miss the bead channel.

I think between the Panther tire being so soft and the ring diameter of the wheel being is what is causing the trouble. But it is not a issue once you have it figured out.

Well i placed third this weekend at our local comp behind two other OCM rigs.

I can not wait until i am use to the new setup. Then it is ON.

Well i drove my Zero to a first place finish 1 point ahead of Gatekeeper:shock: this weekend at the SERCRC event. The truck worked great all weekend.

The Berg axles and Panther tires for sure upped the bar on crawling.
