My Upgraded 77 GMC Trail Trekker

Just the stock black chrome

I've tried to fit several, times and the wobble is real bad

Tires were warped in shipping or something

It sucks :(

I tried the Danally 130 100T motor on my rig tonight on 2S and holy mackinoff - tons of power - very happy :D

some pics of new beadlock rims and tsl boggers

thats the strangest lookin 77 chevy i ever seen....haha.......those tires look good, you gonna cut em or leave em stock?

right forgot to mention the newest shell lol

Cut them how?

Remove the smaller lugs you mean?

Not sure yet

Wanna see how they do stock first.

I am also trying to get my miclaws working on stock rims but the rubber themselves was warped in shipping and they wobble like crazy

what i noticed is you really have to watch to make sure the bead is mounted uniformly on the wheel, i had to redo each side a few times before it was right.....and ya i was talkin bout the little lugs just to open them up a bit, they prolly work fine as is i becha....

ok; I think i'll try then stock for a while - it is white outside ya know and nothing crawls well i snow, save MAYBE tracks lol.

I just tried the miclaws inside and out and I'm not thinking I may like the boggers better now; as far as snow/loose sand is concerned I dont see a huge difference. This being said, they are way better than stock.

I do notice by slipper clutch is working more now - since I installed the 100t motor, I should've tightened the clutch perhaps.

Todays running was on stock lipo

The miclaws still wobble bad, but, I dont they they'll get any better unless I buy new ones and ask them to be packaged better.

See below h1 trekker miclaw pics

hey if it still drives str8 who cares........get r done.....lol the miclaws look big but boss.....

Mad

Did you use locitite in your beadlock screws?

I have some screws backing themselves out already and lost one.

I think I may use a tiny bit per screw

Use a tooth pic to apply it

I need to add more weight to tires anyways

yes of course.

I really like these boggers

scale looking tires that dig and grab well.

I build a indoor mountain type atrocity out of scrap foam, held together with hot glue, and tooth picks, then took a torch to the foam to melt and give a rough texture.

It has some steep angles and these tires work well - my scaler type shells make the rig top heavy, but the scale trekker body works well.

I still need to try sag suspension and add more weight (bb's) to tires. I may look around to see if I can find some lead tape to wrap around inside rim as well.

yes i use blue, not red as its permanent.......

the trekker is supposed to be 1/24th scale

But

what scale size would the body be? It must be smaller than 1/24th?

?? no idear 1/24? lol for weight i did one wrap of 3/16 lead rope fishing weight in each front and 4 wraps of solder in the back works good, and i have the stock springs on front and some beefy springs that were exactly right size, found em in the hardware section of canadian tire......check it out

I dont think it is 1/24" because its smaller than any other 1/24 model and or 1/25 even. Its more like 1/28-1/32 scale - well; for width anyways.

I'm finding that for extreme hill climbing I am needing a low, low center of gravity, and thus I added bbs to all 4 tires.

32 up front and 20 out back - makes her heavy and strain the battery and motor more, but, it keeps it planted. I also mount stock batt to front on top of servo which helps, but I could use more weight.

I built this mountain out of scrap foam parts and it looks like hell but is challenging and works good for training. Some of the angles are steep and I added in chunks to make it more difficult.

I need to find some heavier 1-2S lipos that will fit up front, yet wont interfer with articulation or suspension.

My set up on a 2S is plenty of power - probably too much lol. The stock battery seems a little fatigued and underpowered with extra weight but, delivers that low end slow torque better than 2S.

I have yet to try a 1S lipo yet. I have a bunch, just none that are really heavy enough for hull climbing.

Have you tried out a 1S lipo?

ps

I'll check crappy tire for those springs

if you look at my rig, the 450 mah nanotech is mounted right under the hood area, er: open hood and you see the esc mounted to a panel, under the panel inbetween wheel wells kinda under them is the batt.......it just rubs at full flex, lots of jam and long run times, 1/2 hr plus easily

I've been pondering replacing the steering servo with a hitec, but, only because the metal gear servos I have dont have a big enough spline for the existing servo arm linkage.

BUT

If I dont need a servo saver, I have plenty of cheap digital metal servos i could use.

So, how important is a servo saver?

you dont....mines on just cause i didnt have the right horn at the time, i am taking it off when my 65mg shows up.....right now i have the hs-55 its good too, but only nylon or something gears, not metal, but is worls better then the glitchy stocker....
