I am always seeing or being asked how to remove the paint from the NB jk body. I tried the brake fluid method at first, and is does work. Kind of slow though and nasty. I found out a little trick though by accident. I was sanding my jk body and went to use some alcohol to wipe of the dust. Here is a video of the results. I hope this helps many out.

lol, that is part of the reason I made the video. Hopefully it will save a few people. By the way it took me about 1 hour to strip the whole body with that method.

It does work except for one thing, if you dont pay attention to it or clean if off afterwards, the alcohol will start to eat the plastic.

Thats kinda the reason us painters tell people to use brake fluid, it doesnt eat away at the plastic by softening it over long periods of time.

To be technical, brake fluid generally works best with paint on lexan shells. on hardbody shells all anyone needs to do is sand out the imperfections and use green pad to roughen up the painted surfaces, wash with soap and water, primer it, and paint.

Does hot soapy water work for rinsing? Brake fluid is pretty hard to remove from some surfaces. Just wondering.
