OK so my awesome fiance picked me up the scx10 ii jk and its my first crawler......I'm hooked....
Buuuuuut I can't even get up snow banks [emoji20] im used to shooting a yeti up these things ....anyway I just want a bit more speed that being said I was thinking about either doing the 2 speed conversion or grabbing a 3s [emoji43] so before I go buying I thought I'd get the opinion of the ones who know what they're doing hahaha

3s definitely wakes it up, but if you’re worried about getting up hills and crawling I would look at tires first. Proline hyrax have treated me well.

I’ve only lived in San Diego and Vegas since I’ve had this rig so I can’t help you with that question. I’m sure someone else can chime in.

Scalers in general struggle in snow. That's a bad litmus test for your rig and how you want to set it up. 1.9 tires are just too narrow for the weight of the rig in snow and they tend to just bog down and dig themselves into holes. More wheel speed just speeds up the digging. If you're going to run in snow a lot you could try a wider tire like the Pitbull XOR, or just stay away from snow. 3S is great for an SCX10. It's all I run in all my rigs with 20-25 turn equivalent motors.

How r they in wet conditions? Mud snow ect

it never snows where i live but mud, water, rain, typhoons... we got plenty! :lmao:

i love the hyrax, goes through mud, wet moss on rocks, etc. way better than my rockbeast xl's!

Like others have said, snow will always be difficult with your crawler. I would definitely pick up a pair of better tires, the compound is to stiff on those nittos

Everyone has the hilux tires or whatever they're called any suggestions?

I would just drive it as is until you know what you want to change. Don't just start throwing parts at it willy nilly. 3s will wake it up but keep in mind these are CRAWLERS not bashers!
