Yes i know this radio is meant for planes, helicopters and drones. I am not using it for any of that, actually its not even a crawler. I am going to be using a spektrum dx8e for a tamiya semi truck with a 6 degree of freedom robot arm attached to it. I am aware that means i will need a total of 9 channels but i will be converting the transmission to a 1 speed.

Were i need help is with the switches for this radio. it comes with a few 2 position switches and unfortunately none of them will work for my application. I need to convert all of the switches on the radio to a 3 position switch.

Does anyone know of a 3 position switch that i could possibly use and how to wire it? Or does anyone know of a place were i can send my brand new radio to and have them do the modifications to it?

This radio will not be used for other rc.

The Dx8e looks nearly identical to my Dx8G2
I believe all the switches are programable, aka you can program any switch to work on any channel. The Dx8G2 has multiple 3pos switches avalible for anything I wish to use, including a dial for variable componants, aka flaps ect.
More info on your radio might be helpful.

Back in the day, it was important to not use air radios/frequencies for ground use. Today, it really doesn't make any difference.

I don't believe you can swap out the 2-position switches for 3-position switches. These are actually digital inputs, and the radio controller will know know what to do with a 3-position switch in a 2-position location.
