I had a "toy" RC boat/yacht when I was a kid. Lets say 1985ish.
I say toy because it was all plastic and probably came form Toys R Us, not kit or anything like that.

I recall using standard C or D batteries. Maybe it had a plug for a stick pack but I never used one. Batteries were inserted through a hatch that I think was where the read stern is on a yacht.

I know it had twin motors and twin stick control with full forward/reverse. I recall a bow railing as well.

Looking at a modern yacht I think the attached image is close. Anyone have any ideas?

Nikko and Tyco were King back in 1980's..in the toy grade Rc world.

I know I had my eye on a few boats/hovercrafts back in younger years..

Tyco bandit was my Favorite..

Nikko island cruiser

That is close ..... I remember the windows not being clear and the bow railing was one piece. it may have had the little protrusion from the bow that you walk out on to pull up the anchor (no real anchor of course).

I'll have to go dig around on some tyco and nikko stuff.

I already beat up ebay and amazon looking before I posted.

I still can't find it. Will have to try generic vintage toy boat or something...

AHA!

Vintage Shinsei Voyager radio control boat on eBid United States

And now that I think back I had 2 different ones because the first one died. I had this one first:http://static.rcgroups.net/forums/attachments/3/2/1/1/6/4/a5813702-60-outsides.jpg?d=1369695820

Then this one later on:

Will have to see if I can find one for the wife to get me for Christmas!
