It's funny to me that a lot of guys like to use New Bright bodies. Or even Fastlane RC. It's funny in the sense that it should make some proper RC companies go the same way and produce some bodies like that cause I think the guys around here would snap them up quickly. They're way more detailed and usually better looking with a little work than lexan bodies that come with our trucks.

That aside - where are you guys getting these bodies? I guess you're buying the toy truck and just disposing of everything else? Garage sales? I dunno - maybe I've just answered my own question.

i have been scoping yard sales.
you can buy them at any walmart or target, then as you said just chuck the junk.
check the for sale section, there are always deals popping up there.

online at target.com or walmart.com is where I got couple of mine. ebay too. some have bought them in the stores themselves-target, toysRus, walmart.

I've also physically seen them at Target, Walmart, and ToysRUs.

I was wondering the same thing, Bassguitar: is there nothing else salvageable from these New Brights - servo, gears, Tx/Rx? I'd assume it's low quality cheap stuff, but I don't know first hand.

eBay, Toys R Us, KB Toys, Target, China*Mart, Yard Sales, Salvation Army, Thrift shops and even on the curbs before the garbage man picks up the trash. Thats where I have found alot of my stuff. I have a burn pit and dispose of the chassis and usless junk there after dark(so the black smoke isn't as visable). I LOVE FIRE!

let everyone you know that has kids that you'll take anything off their hands before they throw it away! I just got a CXT, H2, and 2 larger scale Tundra bodies (14.5" wb). I sold one Tundra already, so even if you get a body you don't want, someone might be willing to trade stuff. Anyone want the smaller CXT body?

oh, you should have posted this in the Bodies section....

I totally agree-and have mentioned before that those companies could easlily sell non decorated versions of their bodies alone through the hobby channels.

i have found that the "junk" part of these cheap toys from wallyworld can often be used for other misc. purposes. I've made a pretty rad trailer out of the bottom back half of a chevy i chopped up.

I always tried goodwills, but they quit selling all toys because they can't test for lead in a toys paint. Sucks. I try yardsales, but living in the Johnson County, Most yardsales are pitiful. Kids too young, or Kids too old. E-bay, can't justify buying just a 60 to 70 dollar body. Just to bash the heck out of. So I just wander aimlessly around fleamarkets and thriftstores for that one in a million find. Like the 10 Jessie James and Dale Earnhardts SS Chevrolets and for some odd ball reason 2 Tamiya Jeep bodies I found in a Tractor Supply store. Go figure. Now if I can just make the guy at the local hobby shop realize the the bruiser he has is worthless, I'm in there like swim wear!
