That is all rip raff isn't it ?? Natural rock is muck better.."thumbsup"

Over to the right of the swimming area is natural rocks. It is alot of slick rock and it will depend on the level of the lake at the time of the gtg or comp. It may not be worth it just a thought. I'll try to get some pics.

its great when the level is down but it under water by now except on the hill by the fence the area is a good course or two worth of natural bi g rock ill post winter pics tom if i can find them

Reviving this old thread because Joe is right... we need some new comp spots

There have been some of us doing GTGs at the Chickamagua Dam for the last few weeks. The big rocks near the fishing pier are awsome for courses. We got hassled a little by a ranger who called our crawlers "motorized vehicles" but then he said he was OK with them as long as we stayed out of everyones way. So i think a comp there is out of the question.

We still need to try out the Hiwassee Powerhouse spot. and I think N. Chick Creek in Soddy would make a decent Comp Spot too.

He came by Saturday to remind us to stay on the rocks. I think the guy is bored and looking for something to do.
Rocktown is the bomb.

So now we also have the Quarry at Chilohowee, and Montlake...

Has anyone ever noticed the rocks on the shore below the Lenoir Dam? I saw some guys fishing down there on the power house side. The rocks look pretty big (not rip rap) like bedrock or something.

u guys need to look at piney creek in spring city its just 20 min north of dayton

Hey Chris..do you still go here?

I have went back a few times with my berg and to be honest its good for practice but it doesn't have a bunch of comp worthy rocks. It is a blast for scale trucks but doesn't hold a candle to the pocket in Dayton . If any one wants to check it out some time just PM me.

watts bar dam is a good place to crawl on meigs county side with big quarry boulders . just another place to think about.

what about the place there on the right just about a 1/4 mile north on 27 past brians hobbylands old building i seen that there is rocks/boulder coming out of the ground there its on the hillside .

there is another place in dayton on hwy 60 at the bridge rhea county side its easy to see it if ur coming from the other side of the bridge look to your left bunch of rock coming out of the ground just another place to look at.

what about the creek that is down there in soddy u turn right past the sonic on the right the creek parking is before u start up the mountain cant remember the name for the creek .

hope this helps its not much but every little bit helps

Thanks for the suggesions.

I have seen the place down from the old Brian's Hobbyland building. Looks good but is it private property? And parking is sketchy.

The rock outcrop that you can see from the 60 bridge looks awsome and I have tried to get there a half dozen times, but there is no road to it, and I'm afraid to take off in the woods. (No tresspassing signs)

I'll have to check out Watts Bar. "thumbsup" Been there but never noticed the big rock.

Watts Bar is alot like the spot below Chickamauga dam. I still need to try and get up my aunt's farm in Pikeville and look around. Her property is on the edge of the mountain, so there's bound to be some rocks somewhere.

We should hook up sometime. I'm in Cleveland. We've actually had a comp at that place before. It's great... but parking sucks. Keep an eye on here. We are ETRC and we should be having a comp around here at the first of June.
