New Crawler/ Rock Racer for under $200

I see, I already ordered the stuff to open it, lets wait.

How do you clean a Traxxas Stampede? I have always driven my toy rc cars on concrete and maybe 10 seconds on grass until they get stuck but now I did a nice 1-hour long bashing session and now my rc is al dirty, i removed with a dry towel the grass and some of the sand but not all the stand comes off completely, I have thinking about hosing it down?

What do you guys think?

I gave up on cleaning mine. They get clean-ish by running them through the grass. Back when I cared, I hosed them off then dried them with compressed air.

Some people talk about spraying it afterwards with WD40 because it might rust out if I hose it down? is it true? is it worth it?

I mostly leave it as is. Occasionally will put the truck in the tub, shower off the dirt, dry with a hair drier, spray with wd40, wipe down excess wd.

It's wrong but it works and doesn't take 2 hours. All my stuff is waterproof though.

Now and then oil on the metal joints to silence the squeaking... although it's a kinda scale sound.

But no need to hose it down if it isn't caked in mud. You can get rid of the dust and sand with a stiff brush, too.

I run a lot of my cars at our coastal sand dunes, even though I stay out of the salt water and wet sand, there is a lot of salt in the dry sand which can make steel parts rust fast. I rinse off every car as soon as I get home using low pressure from the garden hose, then immediately dry off with compressed air being careful not to force water into places it should not be. Once everything is completely dry, I lube moving parts with Tri-flow (ptfe lube) from an eye dropper type bottle, aerosols just get lube everywhere which attracts dirt. Usually takes about 15 minutes to do 4 or 5 cars.

If it's just dust/dirt/wet grass, I don't worry about it. I don't think I've ever needed to wash my MOA or micro crawlers since they NEVER get run at the beach or in mud.

Of you want brushless for 200 dollars your only option is custom stuff. I would check out the redcat gen 7. It isn't brushless though but you could move to that.

Well, what I am doing right now is now washing it at all, only after like 5 or 6 bashing sessions, I just put it inside the tub and then dry it out quickly with a tower and then I use a hair dryer, it takes me 10 minutes total.

Right now with winter, I have started to get some snow, I tried doing some snow bashing but my car tends to sink in and then it bottoms out, my brother has a 1/16 revo and it does the same thing when the snow is fresh and there are 6 inches or more of snow, what kind of tires can we use for deep soft snow bashing? if it is an all season tires, it would better.

Very wide tires. PL Hyrax and PB XOR are very wide meats that should be able to help stabilize your snow slinging fun. If your talking about a Stampede not having wide enough tires stock, 6 inches of soft powder snow might be too much for it. Maybe let the snow harden up over night, get a running start, or just run it when there’s less snow on the ground.

But I have seen some videos where they run them on fresh snow, I wonder what kind of tires do they use, maybe paddles?

just waiting for snow to test them out

Totally forgot about paddles. Pro-Line should make a set of “Sand Paws” that will fit on your Stampede. May have to unglue if you want to use your original wheels though.
