NEW HSP 1/24 crawler

What setup are you running in that , It looks like it has good wheel speed and torque.

Its easier if I just say what's stock lol.

I looked up my ebay history, I can't remember the size gears exactly its been over a year.

The spur gear is the 56t for the micro rally/sct

The pinion size I'm not sure of, but its from the 10t-13t metal gear pinion set for the micro rally/sct.

It has the aluminum transmission

The slipper clutch is super glued onto the spur gear so it can't slip.

7.4v lipo

Metal gear servo

Driven's no shock torsion bar chassis

The motor, axles and esc are the only stock items to be honest. But my favorite mod is the chassis, it really works well for utility work like towing and plowing.I honestly think my Trail Trekker has the balls to launch my yacht, its 29" and 3lbs.It would just look silly doing it.

Thanks bud , It seems like you got the right combo.

My Losi is probably the only rc I have that id trust bringing on a vacation without a single replacement part, its a very reliable truck now.Upgrading these things is more important then the brand or anything like that.

But I'm glad you bumped this thread, I needed to knock the dust off the Hsp and start thinking about its future.I recently bought a few 4 channel Tactic Micro Transmitters used, one of them would be perfect for a 6x6 or 8x8 build.

Heck the price of the 4 channel Tactic new, along with 2 Hsp's is nearly $100 less then buying just 2 new Losi's.

$70 a Hsp x 2 = $140

Plus $35 for a new Tactic Micro tx = $175

Plus $30 for a rx = $205

Two new Losis are $300....$95 of savings covers the transmission, motor, esc, maybe even more. But since I'll be starting off with 4 channels I'll be able to persue crab walking and maybe a utility item like a mount for my plow I can raise.

I bought one of these trucks a while back and got tired of constantly fixing the u joints so i took a piece of fuel tubeing that went from u joint to u joint, trimmed the sides so it fit in the yoke, glued a small plastic rod in each end and drilled it out for a pin. It works great and under a load/ stall it only twists about 1/4 of a rotation (not even noticeable with worm gear drive). It flexes with the suspension and should last forever.

Ya might want to post us up a pic of that , it sounds like a good idea.
