It will be interesting
It will be interesting to see what happens now that Austin has won with a set of these axles.

No, they aren't. Don't buy them.
They break and they don't handle well at all.
What all have you broken so far & are parts available for it? I was in Tenn. and I saw 1 or 2 there, axles @ least. Also why doesn't it handle well in your opinion? Are you running 2 esc's? One last question for you, what motors are you running? Kamikaze thought that the axles were pretty good...... Any info would be greatly appreciated."thumbsup" Reason for asking is that mine's in the mail, wanted to know what to expect.
Sorry for being sarcastic earlier. I have been preaching about this rig for a few months now. When I have done good with it I hear "cheater truck" or "yeah, if you can get one." The reality is that it has been available for sale since January and it is just a truck. Somebody still has to drive it!
I originally held off to see if replacement parts were going to be available. Now they are, so I shall be getting one.
So now that I scrounged up the cash I no longer see the OCM kit on a main hobbies. I see parts but no longer see the kit. Now they have another Crawler kit which looks suspiciously like the OCM kit.
It's called the enRoute Berg 2.2
Here's their link. p://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/products_id/23788
So does anyone have any idea if these are made by the same company? They seem too similar not to be.
Anyone know of any other places to purchase the OCM kit from? I wanted to get it while they were still having a sale but figures that it's not even on the website now that I can.
Thanks..
Holy Crap Dave!!:shock:OFFICIAL LINEAGE OF OCM/BERG
The company NewAge is the manufacturer of both of these rigs.
NewAge makes the Berg for the Japanese company EnRoute. They sell the Berg 2.2 in Japan.
OCM was distributing their version of the NewAge crawler in the US. Time will tell if we ever see this rig branded as "OCM" again.
amainhobbies.com was selling the OCM crawler and when delivery became a problem, they contacted Berg. Since contacting Berg, amainhobbies has established distributorship directly with NewAge.
The current price for the Berg from amain is $299. I cannot imagine that price will go up. If anything, when their pipeline is full from NewAge, the price if anything should go down or stay the same.
I hope that makes this as clear as mud!![]()
Weird how Austin driving one and winning one comp with one (your's) creates more buzz than you and I could by singing it's praises for months. Only a few gave a crap a couple of weeks ago, now everyone and their brother is interested.;-)
I didn't do anything to it, matter of fact I just got it 1 day before I had to leave for the comp, I built it in 5 hours, got in the car, drove it the morning of the comp and then compeated. Its a damn good truck.Did you clock the axles to get more clearance for the motor on your rig? Also, nice rear bumper/battery mount!
