I had been looking at the NewAge truck since it first came out. I too was worried that it much just be some generic truck that we couldn't get parts for. I wanted to see one in person first too. Well I saw it at ECC and ordered one of the last OC OCM Sunday night. Got the box sitting in my hobbie room right now!!! Trying to deciede if I want to use the stock chassis like Kamikaze or use a GC-1.

ah you suck.. lol i knew i should have ordered one sat night after the comp. i waited till monday morn and poof they where gone. now on back order till 1st week of may. o-well still cant wait to get my hands on it. after watching austin beat the living hell out of it on the bonus gate after he finished the finals course, i was sold instantly. like everyone else i wanted to see one in person. "thumbsup"

Is anyone else thinking what I'm thinking?

Is there a reason why an american company can't come up with a product to compete in the market place?

I know RC4WD is doing some tough stuff, but why not more american based manufactures?

Is it just labor cost that keeps them out of the market?

Labor, tooling, machines, and more. When you see what it costs to manufacture an item in China compared to a US supplier....It just make good buisness sence for those wanting to improve the bottom line and fill there pockets.

An OCM was driven to first place in 2.2 this weekend at the TXRCRCA DFW chapters comp #6.

Where is American Pride?

I noticed MSD makes the statement Made in the USA. I think that's cool.

Same with Panther. All of our tires are designed, tested and manufactured in the USA.

We have been approached by companies in the Pacific Rim that could make our tires cheaper but, the rubber isn't the same. European and Asian rubber has always been inferior to the rubber available in the US. Panther tires will ALWAYS be proudly made in the USA!

You are correct. He goes by lowspark on TXRCRCA. He's a very nice guy. I was so busy taking pictures, keeping an eye on my son and visiting I didn't watch any of his runs completely. He made a huge improvement from the last comp though. He finished 6th out of 11 last time. This time he was first out of 22:shock:.

Amainhobbies just raised the price of the Berg New age form 299 to 350 since yesterday. I new I should have bought it then:shock: I was waiting until it was in stock.

Yeah I noticed that they raised the price as well. I've been checking multiple times daily to see if they are going to take it off of back order. I think I might be locked into the 299 price because I have it set up as a back order. Not really sure if that's how they work but when I look at my back order status on their website it says 299. We'll see.

I do not think it will be an OCM forum, they appear to nolonger be invoved.

It would be an 'enRoute' or a 'Berg2.2' forum.

A Newage forum really should be created at this point!

There are, at least, a few members that already have them. Add that to the interest that has recently been brought up, many more have been ordered. It is guaranteed that a Newage forum would receive more interest than the existing Xfactor/Force forum (no offense to the hardcore guys active there).

Sure, amain raised their price $50, but was $50 really holding back the orders on these things? How many people were willing to pay $300, but not $350? And why rely on amain? If the interest is created, other outlets will make their way into the scene. Surely enroute isn't stuck on amain being their sole US distributor, they just seem to be the only right now. I could easily see a RCC vendor selling these things in the near future.
