New OCM 2.2 Crawler Review

couple questions for you guys that have built them.

first are you putting anyu kind of fabric washer between the motor and the axle housing?

and second are you using the screws that it calls for to mount the motor to the case. mine seem way to long and are hitting the motors internals. I was thinking of using the 4 screws they gave for holding the servo and switching them with the motor screws

thanks

Amain now has their remaining OCM parts on clearance. Not a huge selection left, but what is there is pretty nicely priced. Nice if you want some spares.

They still have servo trays, but not the axle mounting for them.:-(

The bumper, which makes a nice axle mount for whatever, are now $13.50. Shocks are $19.50/pr. Wheels are $33/pr. (make sure you look at the rim with cap set)

Why are they putting parts on clearance unless it's a brand they do not plan to continue to support?

On a side note, I placed a back order today for one. If they do not plan to carry parts for it, I may have to rethink that order. All I really want is the axles anyway. Everything else will be for sale.

It looks like Amain is getting rid of OCM Newage support all together.

The hope is that they will soon kick in with support for the Enroute Newage. Enroute sells axles alone through their site (very expensive), so their is a chance that if amain starts parts support, axles alone will be available.

Sidenote: Amain has always had super quick shipping!!! Today just added to that. I placed an order for some spare parts at 3:18 PDT and receive a confirmation email. At 4:21 PDT, I received another email, with tracking number, showing my order had shipped.

amain is indeed getting just the axles . i was told parts including axles will be in the next shipment

cheers

I hope your both right. The Enroute(?) axles look very promising"thumbsup".

From what I understand, enRoute purchased the rights to & will be producing the NewAge under the name enRoute Berg. It is the exact same piece as the OCM Newage. They are closing out the OCM Newage stuff because OCM no longer owns or produces the Newage.

You can also order the entire kit from enRoute's web site, but it'll cost about $500 + shipping. Just depends on how much a competition win is to you...at my last comp, the winner was the only one with a Berg & he won by such a huge margin, nobody was even close!

You can pick up the Newage Beadlocks for $80 bucks now. Not to bad. They're on Sale right now.
