New Outrunner Motors- Hyperion Z30's

Cool, good to know that I won't have to ever give up my gay (not-gay) manlove for you and your brushless motors, JRH.

Put a lot more time on these motors this weekend. The z3013's start up smoother than any other motor I have ran. I had NO glitches or false starts with a Quark controller. Next up is testing with a Mamba controller. I should get no suprises.

The maxx amperage of one motor (that I could muster) was 12 amps on 7 freshly charged cells. I basically ran the rig at full throttle and then bogged down the rig with my hand. It was pretty hard to keep ahold of it! I could not manage to stall the motor out at all. I could not get the tires to bind up once they were spinning. Grabbing ahold of the motor can was all I could do to stall the motor and even then it would yank out of my hand and startup occasionally.

That sounds awesome John,I'm anxiously awaiting my 3025-08. I can hear my gears shaking in their boots right now. "thumbsup"

Hi John,
How do you think the 3013/14(1085kv) would work with the quark?
Also, can you give me a quick rundown on winds for these outrunners? I understand winds in regular motors...higher winds/slower and more torque, lower winds/faster and more HP but I have no idea about these outrunners.
Thanks,
Tom

Sure did, thanks K B. It also looks like the winds for outrunners and regular motors are the same, highe winds/more torque and vice/versa.
Tom

yes, if you watched the heat, voltage, and gearing. It would need a Mamba Max or equivelent ESC, I would say a 60 amp controller would be safe with maxx tires and good gearing. The Mamba Max is cheaper than other 60 amp controllers out there though, so might as well get 100 amps for the money.

Hi, I am currently running Z2213 (1025/kv) on the bender SW2 with quark 33A pro. I have been building up the black stick, and have wondered as if 2 Z2213 are enough for the rig with M. Troniks GENESIS TRUCK ESC or twin Quark 33A. Thanks, sho

I ran my hyperion z30 I got from JRH today, 18/86 gearing on a xl5 pede sw2 rig with a Mamba max esc and 6 cell 3000 trinity match HV pack

I broke front axle, and rear drive line In the first real bind, about 2 feet after the start gate"thumbsup"

I like the new motor:mrgreen:

Should be able to with no problem, you will need two motors and two ESCs. The downside is that the motor will be hitting the rocks a lot since the Berg has a really low slung motor.
