1/14 Dakar Rally Scale RTR Race Truck

What's weird is that this uses their existing Volvo cab while this truck has been teased before using the correct MAN cab...

The production unit looks like absolute garbage to me. What's with all the red? And those "billet" aluminum parts look like they came directly from AliExpress. The axles still appear to be soft pot metal. No thank you.

Real deal with lashings of red, lucky they can't get red tyres

Ah so it's a real truck they just didn't finish it by putting on the sponsor decals.

I love red, but that's too much red, for me, either way.

What's weird is that the product page for the seperate wheels shows a different, accurate cab.
The fact that the production truck uses the wrong Volvo cab from the Armageddon truck makes me not want this.

Also, why is everyone worried about it being a Volvo cab over a MAN cab? It’s a flipping scale rtr dakar truck!

Cool, looks like it handles pretty well and takes a beating, I'm sure you'll have a good thread when it gets here! Cab looks fine either way to me, but more slightly more scale than Volvo. :)

Looks a tad bouncy with limited suspension movement but still better than I was expecting. My shipping delivery date just got pushed back to next Monday the 11th.

Got sent this too. Just an un-boxing video, in another language. lol

if anyone can make this red rice rocket cool, it will be Shane.

I don't have any ideas for it just yet, just want to scale drive it around the yard for a bit. Shows Monday for delivery. I did buy a few scale Dakar stickers a few years ago and dug them out of the sticker bin last night.

After having those large scale 6x6's and Dakar style rigs that you've built in the past, will it seem strange to have a smaller rig to flick around?

I was gearing up to build a 1/10 crewcab unimog scale dakar style basher, so this just save me some of the custom build time.

I've been looking at some of the 1/14 Tamiya rigs/trailers for a haul setup.

Got mine today. It handles better than I assumed.
2 speed transmission with locking/unlocking axle differentials.
Three options on radio are
Low speed 4WD
Low speed open diffs
High speed open diffs
Tires are weak sauce but that’s expected
Truck running gear is smooth and consistent feeling
Axles are rad

I am not bummed about the 1/12-ish size. The details and scale coolness more than make up for it, IMO. Worth the price tag for me as well.

Next to my #szczerbabuilt f-toy and #szczerbabuilt flatbed yota truck

Would love to get a body if this for 1/10.

I got to see this trucks in person last year in Bolivia she. They came through. Very impressive. Much more fun watching Dakar than stupid NASCAR races. All kinds of vehicle classes and styles.
