New SSD Diamond Pro Axles

I have the diamonds and the plastic has held up incredibly well and slides over rocks really well. You do lose some of the scale look and ease of maintenance but from a performance standpoint they are pretty awesome.

Would say approximately 6-8hrs of run time.

Someone chime in on this, who has a diamond in front and how chewed up is it from rock rash, lets see those pics.

I can post pictures this evening when I get home. I’ve had then both front and rear for a few months and mainly do most of my crawling in limestone and granite. There is hardly any deformation on the center sections.

Thank you for all the responses to my question.

I have a 14 lbs D90 pickup class 2 scaler and I managed to destroy a front Boom Racing Phat axle which is cast zinc in less than one G6 and 3 local scale comps.

Therefore, I was looking at replacing my Phat axles with SSD SCX 2 diamond and the plastic center had me worried, but seeing the way the seem to wear and at the price they sell replacement center section, I might just go with those.

I wouldn't steer you wrong Val..... Buy the SSD housings (Highly recommend the SSD brass knuckles as well) and don't look back:mrgreen:

Plus 1 on that. For the price you can not go wrong. My truggy is close to 9lbs and I thrash it like a rock bouncer. These axles have held up great and will go on all my future builds.

Just purchased a set to make a sportsman class 2.2. Was wondering about gears for these axles. I would like to do OD/UD gears to get better climbing and steering. Are there any gears available for these axles. I just started looking, not much out there. I only found one option. Any ideas. I may try to do it with a tranny if I have to.;-)
