New to hobby need help please

Thanks man! appreciate all the help here. Thankful I found this website! Total RC newb right here and sometimes feel overwhelmed with the amount of info out there online. Good to have people to bounce things off!

So it's been a while but I figure I will give an update just in case someone else ever reads this to the end looking for an answer to a similar issue.
So what I found is that I needed to program both the esc and the radio...after some research on the www and YouTube and the tactic and tekin websites I finally figured it out and got it all working...but then the motor burned up and I have a suspicion it was from the Tekin, because a couple days after I changed the motor the Tekin esc burned up...I really did not like the Tekin product anyway. Too much adjustability when all I want is to set it once and plug and play. I took the advice of a few folks here and picked up a Hobbywing 1060. So far so good. About 20 drives on it and the new 35t rc4wd and 0 issues. Hobbywing gets my future business, easy to program and it works!
So last thing I learned was that if the pin on the esc is in the lipo mode it will cut off the lower voltage to the motor which is an issue when I was running nimh batteries.
A real learning experience for sure but glad I went through and better for the experience now.

I haven't used Hobbywing ESC for a crawler yet but I have used HW stuff for 1/12 on road, 1/10 on road 1/10 off road and all of them have been great. Low price reliable plenty of online support
