Newbie Question

There might be something to be said about the number of teeth engaged or size of the teeth as a counter argument but I believe it's just a matter of two companies trying to do it differently. And thus, now we don't really have a standard.

The main thing is to make sure you use a servo horn with the correct amount of teeth for the servo you are using. Hitec servos use 24t etc.

Im sure an engineer could answer this if it was a theory question...
But being as this is in the newbies area my guess is you think you can run one ijstead of the other. Use the number of teeth your servo requires.
Futabas, savox, and associated all use 25t. Hitec uses a 24t. You have run however many teeth your servo manufacturer designed the servo to run

Its a way for manufacturers to sell you a new servo horn because your old one will no longer work (if you switch servo brands). They make more $$ that way.

since we are the topic 25t and 24t .....
What about the 23t pinion that we get in the axial rtr rigs
what would the 23t use for i have tons of those and never use them in 30 years..."thumbsup"

I learned this the hard way that it is best to look at the specs for your correct servo horn of any MFG. I went with what i knew and had to wait another week for the correct horn to arrive. For example, the Hitec HS-8380TH uses a Industry Standard 25 Tooth Spline (Fut. Compatible).

The reason I asked was because there was a couple different servo horns in extra part bag. I will stick to what is on there.
