Quick question about waterproofing.

It says it has 8 O-Rings... are you guys doing any additional waterproofing?
I've been opening my Savox servos and covering the board with dielectric grease... so far so good.

Up until the TTC, I've just been trying to stay dry and wishing. So far so good.

Jason sprays everything with that conformal coating and Trey dips all of his stuff in concrete or something.

i used to do the dialectric grease, nowadays i do the conformal but its such a hassle to open up the servos and get both the front and backside of the circuit board.

the conformal works killer though, i had my rspro esc, bec, and receiver coated with it and then wrapped in a condom last time we were at busse, and the condom ended up getting filled with water with the electronics submerged, not even a glitch... good stuff for sure. i think i may also start dipping them in plastic coat to be absolutely sure.

do NOT use liquid electrical tape anywhere close to the hitec o-rings.

i tried the liquid etape on the servo case seams last friday and it ended up causing my orings to swell and pop out the sides.

I bought the Castle Field card a while back and it came with the usb cord.. Then all I had to do was get the free download from castle and I was good to go."thumbsup"

did it come with the castle link though? can you run the desktop program with the field card? i thought the field card wasnt as capable or tunable as the castle link.

My field link card didn't work on my BRXL's. It said they needed a firmware updated...so I sold it. That place on Lawrence, strictly RC has it on their computer. They set both of my BEC's for me at 7.4. They don't charge you to do it or anything.

I don't dip my servos...I just cover the internal electronics with dielectric grease (which has to be removed for warranty returns, motor cleaner will do it). I also suggest re-greasing the gears with marine grease. The grease they come with is not very water resistant and I had a couple internal bearings sieze after they rusted. Really the only thing I dip any more is rx's.

I was wondering about that when you mentioned the warranty yesterday.

what about your balls?

I have decided that, after using both liquid electrical tape and plasti-dip, they are the exact same thing. Plasti-dip is just a big can of liquid electrical tape. The both act the same way, they both shrink tight as they dry, they don't react to each other. I think they're one in the same.
