How many people will only shop online with paypal?

I've been working on a new website and I'm debating if I want to continue using paypal or dump it in favor of a credit card processor.

I rarely use my debit card for online purchases, it just seems easier to pay with PayPal credit and I get money back just for using it. I do use my debit card for rpp purchases though.

It is possible to still just use Paypal AND do credit cards, they have card processing services and it will be about the same as anywhere else you look. I looked into it a while back but wasn't enough need for me.

And to answer the question, I prefer to use my card instead of Paypal because I get cash back. It is a Paypal credit/debit card but processed just like a normal credit card purchase.

If I go with a credit card processor, I can handle refunds and order total changes all inside of my website...order total changes is the big factor I'm considering. Paypal requires me to send another invoice and yada yada if someone wants to add a product to their order. With a CC processor, I can just bump up the price until I capture payment (ship). And this will be all automagic inside of my order management system. I add a product to their order, the order total changes, then when it ships it captures the order total.

For me PayPal is quick and easy. Don't need to memorise my Cc number. Not sure how the back end works but have not had issues getting refunds from PayPal sales. Or for that matter adding stuff to an order. It obviously depends on how your website works. With my local crawler store I can usually add stuff by replying to the order confirmation email. Then just make the additional top up via PayPal. No extra invoice required

I prefer paypal on sites where a "screw over" is a possibility. Other then that CC no problem.

There is normal credit card processing through PayPal that works the same as any other company. The site collects the info and you punch it in, including the total, and then it processes for you.

Check this link to PayPal for what I'm talking about.

One of my last jobs I did the credit card processing and we used authorize.net. They have a monthly fee but we did enough volume that it didn't matter.

when i have to grab for my wallet to get my c.c. info i tend give that purchase a second thought.

as a buyer paypal is super easy, but there are people out there who flat out hate it. it'd be best to have both.

FWW I have bought a crapload of rc stuff in the last few years surprisingly a lot just from Amazon or ebay.

I let my local hobby shop get first dibs- but when necessary have gotten stuff from single guys in their garages in whatzitz New York.

Yes my cards have been compromised but with daily monitoring I swat them down and my only inconvenience has been waiting for them to send me a replacement card.

RCModelX once refused to send me a bumper exclusive to him. No paypal no soup for me haha. Apparently that has changed and there is a cc option via paypal.

So yeah I avoid paypal and use my card.

Paypal perm-a-limited my account, so it'd be nice if more small shops would take direct debit/CC, or at least some of the other providers.

You do realize that as long as you use a actual credit card (not your debit/bank card) You have the same coverage as paypal gives you? Its actually probably better protection...

I want to get away from paypal, I don't like them.

Losikid, did you program your website?

No, my current website, all i've done is modify the templates.

My new website I've been working on developing apps/modules to get all the extra functionality I want. But I really suck at web programming...

I don't have enough sales volume to offer multiple payment options. And I'm one of those people who flat out hate paypal. (Even though thats the only payment method I've ever offered). So I'd love to ditch it if there aren't people who will only shop online with paypal.

I have been considering offering "amazon payments" instead of paypal. You can sign in with amazon and have all your billing/shipping options to chose from right there. And you get the same protection as if you bought from a marketplace seller on amazon.
I used this for the first time the other day on a new website I visited, It was a spectacular experience because I didn't have to enter in any shipping/billing info, or make an account. You log in with your amazon credentials, your default card and shipping addy is already selected, then just click buy. It also automagically created an account for me at that site so I could check my order history and such....and my personal favorite, I was never redirected away from the checkout page.

With paypal, you still usually have to punch in shipping/billing info and make an account before being redirected to the paypal checkout page...

Here's the thing, Paypal is a standard. Most sales here P2P are done paypal only.

I sell to buy more. So I use Paypal for buying. I think your sales would be impacted skipping on Paypal.

I too agree with binaryterror.
Paypal has massive presence practically and psycologically in peoples mind. People don't let go their habbits that easily. Its going to take couple of years for competetion to break paypals pressence.

I would like to know why paypal is hated? I personally feel the 5% is a rip.

Am I the only one who gets a Mastercard linked to my Paypal account? I have a personal account and a business account. They all came with a linked mastercard.

Unless I HAVE to pay with the paypal button, I just use my paypal mastercard.

And i agree, P2P, paypal is great. But I feel like the "free" paypal payment method for carts is just annoying. If I wanted to pay the $30 a month, then yes, PayPal is decent. But, if I'm going to pay a monthly fee, then I'll just get a bad ass credit card processor. And I can get a good credit card processor for no monthly fee.

And, I've lost business not offering a credit card payment method (and not have to create a paypal account)

Then how do all these people pay at the big retailers that don't offer paypal?

My question is, how many people refuse to use a credit card on the internet. Not how many prefer to use paypal.

And I hate paypal because of alot of small things that slowly snowball into hatred.
