OS builds an Ascender

Nylon is difficult to glue, is there a glue specifically for it? That body and your truck look great, what body swap your pondering? If it's really cold all tires traction gets worse, thinking of swapping tires too? Great trail pic!

You got your kit over a year before I got mine, but I still have some of the same issues. I had the issue of fitting the skidplate inside the chassis rail. It was only one side, but I had to shave quite a bit of plastic off of it.

I also noticed a negative caster angle which I thought was odd. It turns out the manual has an error and states you should use the 66mm link when you should use the 61mm link. Vaterra failed to include this addendum, but Rich confirmed it on the "Things to know before you start building your Ascender...". So now I have to take my truck apart to fix this.

I can't believe neither of these issues have been fixed a year later. Inexcusable really.

Enough said. :):)

Parked next to Jato's single speed, low energy truck

Well, as much as I love Bronco's, it's always good to change things up. I've only had this truck out for a single run this season :( Time to freshen up and put a few more miles on this spring.

Everything was running fine, no mechanical changes needed. Pulled apart the axles, and the original non HD gears still look pretty decent. Left them in and just regreased everything. This truck didn't even have any shock leaks or even drivetrain squeaks after about a dozen trail runs. Very impressive.

Anyway, found this in the Ascender box. Forgot I even bought this stuff (gotta love that!)

Front pumpkin guard does its job well...diff cover looked great! One of the areas I was skeptical of when I built the truck.

I had to shorten the wb a bit for the new body, and just swapped in some of the other kit links. I had to reconfigure the rear swaybar to match...after some head scratching, I too the optional front crossmember and mounted it out back. trimmed the swaybar links a bit and it was like it was meant to be there.

...and almost done.. Proline Cherokee body fits perfect with the narrowed axles. Swapped out the Gearhead/Pitbill combo for steelies and Rock Stompers. I'll lose a little performance I think, but the Rock Stompers look so perfect under there (and tuck into the smallish wheelwells much better.) Just have to paint and install the the interior and she's ready to go again.

OMG she's on 1.55s with Cherokee body looks great! Great thinking to use optional front cross member out back and fit the swaybar to it too!"thumbsup" :)

Anywhere between Pottstown and Allentown. Ringing Rocks, St. Petes, Green Lane, Nockamixon, and now lately we've been going to Ralph Stover. Everything is a little south/west of Lehigh Valley.

You're more than welcome to join us. We run scalers pretty much of all kinds. We're not into hardcore crawlers at all.

Thanks for building this and keeping us posted. I hope you don't mind but I'm going to steal some of your ideas on mine. Whenever I get done I would love to bring my son and come trail with you and your crew. I live in Union Bridge MD and my daughter goes to Lebanon Valley. I could do a combined trip. Do a little crawling and then take her to dinner. Codyboy has hooked me up so hopefully We will be ready to play soon.

We have Codyboy axles in one of our Ascenders - it's a very capable rig! We're probably off for a little while due to weather, but we're anxiously awaiting spring!
