Panthers new Tires

The truck is at 5 pounds 7.6 ounces.

Dave suggested the foam set up for me that he's based off some feedback from some others, so I figured I'll start there. Uncut Losi foams up front and the Panther memory foam in back. Not normal for me, but I'll try it. Each front complete wheel and tire weighs 13.9 ounces, each rear is at 9.9 ounces.

87.6 ounces total.

47.6 ounces are wheels and tires.

Did the laundry detergent cleaner job (not the full treatment) on them before we mounted them up, and again, they are unlike anything I've ever felt. And yeah, the Clays are pretty sticky on their own, these are way another level.

Had a little break from the rain today to get these on some rocks for a quick tester outer. Initial impressions are very good, and there is a lot of grip. Like the other guys showed you, they totally wrinkle up as you can see, which is interesting. They take a second to wrinkle and once they take a set, they just grab and pull. They make short work of the little ledges, they conform and grab.

The other two pictures were taken after I got the tires all wet and went up an incline I'm very familiar with. Again, you can see them wrinkle and once they do they just go. It makes a unique sound, almost a mid to low frequency chatter.

I was cut short by rain.

Even with just one full battery through the truck, and another 5 minutes into another battery I can foresee these tires being contenders. Tomorrow I get to try them out all day at one of our comp sites, so there's definitely more to come.

I'm not sure about a release date, I'm just a test whore. "thumbsup"

A stiffer outer edge foam, and softer inner section foam would rock in these things.

Diagonally downward I drove into this position, stopped to take a couple of pictures, turned left a little, and drove out of it.

I'd be really interested to see how they preform in the granite rock falls we have here and the giant mossy boulders, here mashers still rule, I'd be happy to see another tire that can preform well"thumbsup"

Okay, so what's a LFO? Low Frequency Oscillation? Swinging back and forth while spinning?

any body on the "inside" at panther?
who do we talk to about getting some 3.8"-4" tall 1.9 scale tires made?

on a side note, i think these tires would have benifited from having everyother lug a solid one, for grip help on smooth rock, where contact patch area is important, ie the drag slick theory.

I wouldn't count on it real soon. It is a possibility later on but the immediate plans for crawling is for one or two more tires in 2.2 first.

You will notice with the spacing in the lugs, you will get that "drag slick" effect with the carcass. The contact patch on these ties is fairly large.

Sorry,I forgot who I was talkin too....LFO=LUG FOLD OVER....:-P

Damn man, never heard that one I don't think. That a real size thing?

What I can see in my briefs, I mean brief testing was that yeah, some lugs fold a little bit, but the solution is the trapezoidal shapes as there's then a different shape to grab or support. Some edges fold in one direction, others don't.

ie the drag slick theory.

I said to Dave last night, "Dude, these feel like you could run them inside out and they'd still stick to everything."

I did, I said that. Like a Wacky Wall Walker or something.

LFO was experienced a lot by those using the M3 Hammers and Badlands if I remember right.

I can't wait to try a set of these Panthers!"thumbsup"

LFO ... Badlands

M3 Badlands right? I have the M2 Badlands, and like them a lot. The new Panthers will definitely be compared to the performance of the M2 Badlands, and some Losi tires I have, and M3 Mashers.

These do look quite promising.

I'll be interested to see how they are priced as well...
