Has anyone used pennies for wheel weight. I just got done put my tires and wheels together. I used 24 pennies in the front and 12 pennies in the rear. I taped then to the inside of the rims and placed the foams over them. I have to said it's an awesome and cheap way for wheel weight. But I'm not sure on the weight, I had no scale to get a true measure. Does anyone know what the weight of 24 pennies would be. Not sure if I need to add more to the front..Thanks

if we do the math
1 box of 2500 copperhead bbs for $4.50 = 833.33 grams
333.33 pennies for.................. $3.33 = 833.33 grams
so your saving 1.17 by using Pennies but that isn't justifiable enough in my opinion to mess with the pennies

Plus the cost of the tape to hold them down"thumbsup"

Any weight attached to the wheels is just added rotational weight to the driveline. Which will accelerate wear and tear and make driveline breakage more frequent, and will also detract from the motor performance.
BB's or other non-static weights inside the tires will not have these negative effects since they are free to move independantly of the wheel/tire.

i done a test wher i used weighted wheels and tires , and non weighted wheels and tires...i gained 10 minutes run time and i could get over rocks i have never gotten over before

Um, I'm assuming you mean without the weights??? Don't see how you'd crawl stuff better without the weights though.

1 US penny = 2.5 grams

3 Copperhead bb's = 1 gram

Old (copper) or new anodized (zinc=crap) penny???
