Why do people/companies ship using this method? I can understand the liability issue, but how many customers are sitting around their houses during the day, just waiting to sign for a package? It is the 21st Century, most houses are empty during the day. I know it is used all the time in company-to-company shipping, but is it needed when shipping to residences?
Now understand, this shipping method does not mean that UPS leaves you one of those slips, that you then sign, and then they leave the package the next day because you signed the slip...............nope, they HAVE to witness the signature, and personally hand you the package.
Well, apparently UPS came by yesterday and today with my Hi-Lift ...............and now it is on it's way back to UH!!:-( I mean, TELL the customer that they have to be home for a signature if you want to ship using it!!
just ranting....................
