Pham's VP Axial SCX-10 JK Jeep Wrangler Unlmited Rubicon - Unlimited Budget Project

That helps a lot ... thanks for the clarification on the spacers. :)

As far as Krawlin01 comment about college tuition .... I can only hope it was said with sarcasm, lots of sarcasm.

Once again, great build and super build thread."thumbsup"

I'm glad it help ya out, things would work a lot smoother with the right parts :) and I agree with ya on the comment with Krawlin01

I just gotta say, this is the most badass SCX-10 I've seen!!!!! Everything is immaculate and so clean I could eat off it. Thanks for sharing this awesome rig with us!!

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed this thread.

Awesome rig, Mr. Pham - question for you.

which GT Power kit are you using?? I've seen about 5 different version - and several of them are tagged as 'flashing' and I'd hate to get one of those and have issues

thanks!!

Thanks, Unfortunately I don't have the original box but it is a flashing kit but doesn't have to flash if you don't want it by changing it's mode. I did check to see the different versions but they look all the same with just a different package, what I did notice was there's a version that give you signal, brake, reverse lights that hooks up in-between your receiver and electronics and I did not get that version and I do not recommend using it because they don't work very well. Hope this all help.

thanks again, just one more question

did you use single LEDs per socket on the controller or multi-light ones? I'm trying to figure out if that'll work or not

Each of the sockets have their own led so they are only single colored. Just the headlights has two colors but they aren't normal LED's.

I am just in aw over this build. Most impressive for me is the wiring!. All the mini connections are just immaculate. Great Job man

Mr.Pham. The new G-RIDE looks awesome. Is it going to be ready for the birthday bash?

Thank You guys, I really appreciate the kind comments they are awesome. Mr. Webb it was good to see ya again on Saturday, the new G-Ride will be the Jeep Wrangler G6, build thread link. :) http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/axia...-axial-scx-10-jeep-wrangler-g6-kit-build.html

I know this thread is old but I'm still adding to this Jeep so here's a short update.

To start things off VP now offers the Upper Link Mount to replace the upper truss that comes with the Currie Axle housing, so I replaced my prototype part with a color matched part (anodized grey).

While one of the wheels was off it was a perfect time to install a new product that will be coming out from Vanquish Products. I'm very excited to share with you all their new VP wheel hex. They fit nice and snug over stock axles and the VP VVD (CVD). They are the clamping style so they don't put divot on your shaft from a set screw AND they hold the pin nice at tight which will keep the pins from sheering easily due to excessive play. They are long lasting because they use a standard screw (with a 2mm allen cap head) which has more bite than a metric screw to clamp down on the pin (I have had problems with Hex that use a metric screw to clamp down and they end up stripping threads or breaking too easily).

Also since I had the extra brass weight ring off I decided to up the weight on the front and use a 3/8 size brass ring to max out the front knuckle weights with the wheel hubs combo.

Also swapped out the rear hexes with the new VP Hex. Gotta love the VP bling :)

Last thing I wanted to share with everyone was I remounted the RPM sensor using some stock Axial parts. One old plastic slider mount and a shorty servo mount. It came out really nice and makes it easy to remove the sensor for transmission/motor removal by unscrewing the servo mount from the slider mount.

I hope you guys enjoy this little update. Hopefully I'll have some pics of this rig on the rocks this weekend. :)

Have you ever driven this thing lol? Those curries look un-scratched.... jk i know you have but how do you keep the curries so fresh?

If you consider driving this in the garage and inside the house then yes I have driven this rig. BUT I decided along time ago to keep this rig looking fresh as a shelf queen.

Went to the Lake this last Saturday and got to snap some pictures of couple of my rigs with my buddies Jeep. It was getting dark so the pictures didn't come out the way I want them to come out but i'll be at the lake again this week to try again. Hope you guys enjoy the pics. My RED Axial G6 Jeep build thread is here :) http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/axia...-axial-scx-10-jeep-wrangler-g6-kit-build.html Check it out and tell me what you guys think. All of the comments are much appreciated.

Your jeep turned out awesome I only wish I had that kind of money to put into a rig but oh well! Great pics and your wiring is off the hook! It takes some patientce and skill to make things come out that clean once again Good Job Sir!"thumbsup"

Thanks, the kind words are much appreciated. Everyone can have a rig like this, just take your time like you said. It has been over a year now since I started then build and I'm still working on it finding little things to tweak to make it just a little better. :)

An inspirational build for sure!

Quick question on the Integy light buckets you are using. Is it the same ones shown in the 4 light bucket bar here?

INTC23220-2T.jpg

Also, what type of epoxy are you using? I know there's a number of different types but I wanted to use what's been proven :)

I'm at this stage in my build and wanted to give this route a try.

Thanks!

The light buckets are the correct one I used for this build. The epoxy I'm using is just a 5 minute Epoxy that you could get at any hobby store.

Good Luck on your build.
